Rappers Who Should Have More Material
...for the tenure they have in the game.
Considering Fiend can put out 6 mixtapes in a years time, why are there so many great emcees that have been around for so many years and have so little material? (work ethic? label problems? whatever).
Lets keep the Jay Electronica talk out of this thread. Let's also not talk artists who are relatively new or artists who have a decent catalog, you just wish they had more...
Let's talk artists who are active or semi-active since the 90s or earlier who should really have more material considering their talent.
My first picks:
Erule (apparently still drops a collab verse here and there)
Lord Have Mercy
E-Vicious/Vicious (of X-Mob)
RA the Rugged Man (at least official, released material)

This is frustrating because there is a TON of Last Emp material floating around but the same 14-15 songs are the only ones to make it to his officially released albums. I'm pretty sure that "Palace of the Pretender" and "Music, Magic, Myth" were very nearly the same record. Da gawd Vincent Lopez dropped a jewel in TROY a few years ago that was essentially a rip of this dorm-room style cassette of early/rough/demo Last Emp shit, all good.Versive wrote: Last Emperor
Definitely agree with Brewin & Killa Sin as well.
I wish Young Zee had released more material in the Outsidaz' prime. "Musical Meltdown" is fucking fantastic and Zee rips his verses on the "Night Life" EP.
this is the bestt answer.Comedy Quaddafi wrote:Killa Sin

Big cosign on Killa Sin by Comedy Quaddafi. Damn shame he had to get locked up for the amount of lyrical talent he has. Life has the tendency to throw people off their course unexpectedly.
I would've liked to hear Roc Marciano & Pete Rock have more material between The U.N. album & now as a duo. Seems like they were on a bit of a roll in the mid 2000's between the U.N. LP and solo Roc Marci/Pete produced songs like Been A Long Time Comin'. The production Pete gave those guys is the most interesting I've heard from him in awhile. I also wish The U.N. as a group would've put out at least one more album between their debut and now.
Between Hi-Teknology and now I think Hi-Tek could've put more work out there as a producer, seems like he was on a roll during the end of the Rawkus era but got caught up after signing with Aftermath. The creativity of Train Of Thought and other early 2000 projects makes me wonder what other gems he's got in the stash.
Sometimes I'm not even that mad at my favorite artists who's output has slowed over the years, especially when I observe how others feel like they need to oversaturate the internet with their work and spread themselves thin just to stay "relevant".
