Brand new video!!!! Anotha Kinda Southern is still on schedule to release next month, and Rare Birds is the follow up record dropping later this year. This is the title track. I kept it super simple with this beat and really let the raps do their thang. It was fun making it, and I hope that this reminds people how much vitality hip hop is capable of. Plus, it showcases my killer dance moves. Watch it in full resolution.
thread is now about zach g

Rare Bird Lyrics:

Yeah its zachg
Ok since last week
I aint showered but once
I take it run it and stunt
I'm in the air tough punt
Get low surprise bunt
Make toast and rise up
From rye disguise rust
In art to buy trust
From the universe and flip that to a life that erupts
I take this title and rub
Another one out
I set fire to fun don't put the fun out
Let it burn motherfucker
Let it burn
I'm fillin urns motherfucker
Fillin urns
I take your turn and call it leave the track screwed
You're fuckin with a whale when it comes to attitude
I could make you kick the bucket turn you pale get the shovel leave you buried and bruised
Come on we marryin you fools
You gettin offed 2 by 2
Aint no arc in this curve
I lay it down bitch I swerve
Rap in cursive my words
Completely free from the cure
Man I am ill in the flesh
Forget my spirit what's next call it dimensional sex
Because I'm in and I'm out so superhuman
I flex
And turn my shirt to dust
and I'm ridin on a broom so I'll be sweepin it up
At the same time
Rap wizard out the same mind as einstein and levi strauss
The bush aint what I beat about
Girl I make that coochie sing like a soulful burning bush
I'm an incredible hebrew
Face so cereberal
Whole being see through

And if I front it's cause I'm workin at a grocery store
Talkin last shift bumpin I re-gross I do more
I pick up thje microphone like its attached to the floor
Cause I make the shit bounce
Talkin ughhhh
Get up yall know the game
I aint worried bout the praise you aint gotta say my name
Open up my mouth let the words do they thang
Say hello to my brain I rap the truth and its plain
I don't stay true to no plane
I'm outta too many frames
I'm talkin 7-D pimpin man my pimpin aint played
By these humans these people
The big bang happened so I must be the sequel
Eagles and herons ospreys and seagulls
Pelican comparin to a toucan
And they starin in the same mirror
Right next to each other
Like long lost brothers
One in the jungle and one on the shore
Come on and Bust it bitch tumble make some love on that floor
Aint give a fuck about your sales imma settle the score
And if you try to talk again
Man imma settle it more
See you dip in shit's creek
With shit paddles
Shit oars
Man I'm whalin on this beach from tomorrow
Seven years and four score
Talkin I ate everything like fourty four fours
And if life's a bitch I got that bitch on all fours
And she's cleanin up my bathroom while I'm chillin next door

I'm going to share 3: Ekundayo (Atlanta), Poetic Republic (Cleveland/Brooklyn), & Writtenhouse (Philadelphia)

Image
Ekundayo is a New York transplant that has lived and cultivated his craft in the catacombs of Atlanta, Georgia. Alongside fellow members of his Freeport, Long Island bred Liuns Den crew, Ekundayo has continued creating culture rich hip hop that was harvested in their early years in New York while playing numerous events around Hofstra University, NYU, Baby Jupiter, Planet 28, Lyricist Lounge, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Chameleon Lounge, and more.

In 2010, Ekundayo began to get sprinkles of coverage within the blogosphere, but I just recently came across his music after randomly listening to a song he did over a jacked Oddisee beat. The self titled track immediately perked my ears not only due to the crisp production, but Ekundayo's cloudless cadence as he twists vintage vaunts around Oddisee's vaporous horns and drums. This solid first impression led me to Ekundayo's latest collection of loosies featuring 20 tracks of some original music as well as production from "up and coming" producers around the world (Oddisee (D.C.), Onra (Paris, France), Full Crate and FS Green (Amsterdam), Brenk (Austria), Tokimonsta (Bay Area), Jansport J (LA), Illastrate (Atlanta), and Ekundayo himself).

Throughout this collection, Ekundayo proves he is a veteran worth listening to. In an over saturated blogosphere where youth, inexperience, and raw potential is manifested as top tier material, 'Dayo stands as a skyscraper next to bodegas and, to me, is way more interesting and polished than most of the up and coming east coast conscious lyricists I've lauded in the past.

I post a lot of artists on the rise and a lot of artists that other sites don't cover (for whatever reason) and if I had to choose one group from my years of hip hop blogging that deserves a look from the rest of the blogosphere, it would be Cleveland, Ohio's Poetic Republic.

Almost a year ago to date, I posted their 2008 LP, The Natural Progression of Things, and a mixtape of live recordings and unreleased studio cuts called The Blackest Man Alive. After their move to Brooklyn, Poetic Republic have been hard at work on a new album set for a March 2012 release date entitled Future World.

Here are three tracks from their forthcoming album, as well as a re-up of all the stuff I've posted in the past. Wake up.
