using the word popular loosely here.
i'm talking about rappers you've heard of or seen online and you know they have some popularity but couldn't name a fucking song they have.

Pretty much every rapper that gets no radio play excluding Currensy, Jay Elec, Danny Brown, eXquire, and the OF dudes. I usually check out the threads posted listen to a song or two and then completely forget about them even if I like it.

Theres alot of artists from the indie/underground scene I've never heard - People Under The Stairs spring to mind.
Never heard anything by Atmosphere either.

There's a 19-page thread in TROY that will put you up on the Blowed.

thanks, might check it at some point
Pre-internet about 95% of rap that got exposure in London/UK (be it radio play or sales distribution) was east coast based so aside from the Heiro/Pharcyde/Liks stuff on major labels, DJs werent really playing much from the LA underground.

I dont know about his thug cred but he does have a college degree. Dude raps like he dropped out of second grade though.

I think he's qualified nurse or something. Only thing of his Ive heard that liked was '100 Years', apart from that there seemed to be alot of weak crossover attempts.
