Cadalack Ron

his lyrics basically consist of talking about addiction, life lessons, and personal exploration and explanation. self-admitted druggie and shit.

his selection of beats is one of the things that caught me off-guard. he seems to have a great sense of how he wants his sound to be defined.

he can rapraprap way better than you would predict. he writes songs, not just verses, if you knowhatimsayinyafeelmenahmsayinyaheard

he has two lps.

one from 2009,

one from this year.

here are some youtube tracks (the first is a really dope track i can't ever find an mp3 of):

was drunk last night broham. My bad if it came off prissy. But 99.999988888777 percent of these battle rappers can't make music.

he was making music long before the battle thing cracked though. I got songs with Caddy from like '05...and he'd been doing it for years in LA before that.

exactly. cadalack ron is definitely a rapper before a battle rapper. he seems to battle for the fun of it and to be involved in helping run the shit (i assume he gets paid to host)

his studio album work is good, yo. give those youtube vids a llisten. or at least holler at the mix when i post it

IF YOU ARE SKEPTICAL ABOUT THIS CAT, JUST WATCH THE LAST YOUTUBE VID I POSTED. this ain't a crusade for ron. this is just a thread to get ppl eventually clickin on downloadin his shit once i post it. i don't think it's trendsetting but i do think this music is really good quality. he doesn't make bad songs

Ron is nice with it. He's working on a new album with my boy Phillip Drummond.

Sup Reason. I produced that track. PM me your email and I'll send you an MP3.

and Whoa. I must say, never thought a track I produced would wind up on :phila: being talked about as something people liked. Happy day for me y'all.

An yeah, Caddy has been rapping forever. Aside from all the druggie shit, which is all true, dude is one of the best guys I have known in the game in LA. Always comes through, takes it very seriously, and has always respected the art.

I have an unreleased track I did with Caddy years ago and never knew what to do with it. Any time I worked with him I always came differently than a lot of stuff he was doing, so it may not be what you expect, but if anyone wants it...

I quite like that 'Miracle' track. Not necessarily something Id play to death but its decent. Definitely not what I was expecting.
Beat is nice too - wouldve sounded right at home on a UK rap tune from about 10 years ago (that Task Force/Low Life/Jehst type sound)

yea that's probably my favorite beat he's rapped over, but stylistically speaking his tone and content lend themselves more to "darker" beats

That just makes me sad. For the most part, I've known Caddy sober. Honestly, he was one of the best to work with. Always ready, on time, did what he said, put shit out quickly. One of my favorite people in the LA scene. Addiction aint cool...
