Artists whose 3rd album was arguably their best?

Post by shakeanjake »

Who you got?
Demos don't count.
Groups count, but within reason. Group albums are group albums. Duos can be counted in the individuals' list.IE paid in full counts as rakim's first album but 36 chambers doesnt count as any individual's album.

So far I got Buhloone Mindstate and Muddy Waters.

Arguable, but you could make a good case for...

Eminem (Infinite, Slim Shady, Marshal Mathers)

Tho I don't necessarily agree because I personally prefer ATLiens, this was the first thing that came to my mind

Mobb Deep is a good one. I always forget that first album even exists.

But it boggles my mind that some people don't see Step In The Arena as the best Gang Starr album. Just To Get A Rep and Check The Technique are the two best Gang Starr songs in my book and they're both on there.

How about Freddie Foxxx with "Industry Shakedown" coming after his 1st LP "Freddie Foxxx Is Here" and the 2nd, a shelved Buckwild & Showbiz produced LP "Crazy Like A Foxxx" on Epic records.

A lot of these you could make an argument for, but you'd be wrong.

Beastie Boys - 'Check Your Head'

Seriously, if you haven't heard the remaster, listening to it is like an entirely different album. Tremendous upgrade.

If you count Kill At Will, then this is clearly the winner.

But I also prefer BMS too.

Get the fuck out of here. More than half the album sucks and it's aged worse than anything else that came out during the late 90s.

there is nothing even remotely as good as Hell on Earth, Drop a Gem on em, God pt 3, Man Down or Bloodsport on Juvenile Hell. Infamous is their best album IMO tho
