When it comes to southern hip hop, I feel like Eightball's "Lost" doesn't get its just due props. Album was ahead of its time.

im sure nobody will agree with me but thats what this thread is for. sonically this album blew my mind like no other hip hop album in a long time. he really stretched the idea of how hip hop could sound imo.

Totally agree with this one. Did you ever peep the remix album he put out of this a few years ago with nothing but 80's style synth beats? It was weird, but worth listening to if you like this.

Don't know why I felt the need to mention cypress, this is the best weed rap ever, period.

Slick Rick- The Ruler's Back

Image
I can't explain to you how dope I think this record is... It's truly one of a kind... I swear it's the only record that sounds like this! Fast rap on even faster production. Rick's just telling dope stories... I actually prefer it over Great Adventures...

"Venus" and "Runaway" are soo dope. Rick might be my favorite signing rapper ever!

"King" and "Bond" are crazy! "Moses", "Tonto"...

All three of the singles, "I Shouldn't Have Done It", "Mistakes", and "It's A Boy", are excellent as well!

I'll never understand the hate this album gets- it's a more than worthy follow-up to a classic debut...

I will also co-sign all the love for "Jewelz". Doper than Word...Life? I think so. More consistent.
