Chicago raps thread 2012

It seems like the midwest has finally been coming online in the past year or so. Hundreds of crews & local celebrities being made off youtubes. There's King Louie, who's probably the best of the rappers coming in the wake of LEP crossing over (and prob deserves his own thread), but then you have younger dudes like Chief Keef (story here) who's actually developing a serious following. a lot of this stuff is more beats than rappers for me, partly because most of the rappers are so young (nb this can also be p. disturbing w/ some of this stuff), but some of the rappers do stand out.

this seems like a common thing for all these new up and coming kids, the production >>>>>> actual rapping. as much as i like a lot of them, realistically many wouldn't be getting anywhere near the amount of attention if it wasn't for the beats they get

Cant think of the name, but there is a group that Master P signed and they all rap in gay masks and shit. Something like "Street Gang Fam". Nothing special, but Chicago is definitely on the radar.

FireSquad are my boy's cousins, he's the one in the bright blue polo. They're all from Harvey and they've actually been makin a splash lately, they've had some of their stuff play on the local stations. They're pretty dope.
