Probably an unpopular opinion - but with Andrew Broder producing and the beat on Winter Clothes I wish this was a straight-up Serengeti record rather than a Kenny, but oh well.

Not sure how to post the link, but facebook streamed Mike Eagle's amazing Pitchfork set in Chicago. The video is still online and at around the 35 minute mark he brings out Geti to do the Chicago national anthem (Dennehy). Definitely a time.

It probably won't be far off, if you think about it. When I spoke to him about KDIII a few yrs back, he conceded that his "life shit" was starting to creep into the KD narrative. Listening to the clips on the site, and reading the script up there, it sounds like a Serengeti album with a slightly different tone of voice and word choice.

Love this album. It's definitely Dennis through and through in terms of lyrics, delivery, but the mood is all Geti. Can anybody here (looking at you bengi) drop some knowledge on the significance of the White Sox hat? Just remembered Dennis was supposed to be a rabid Cubs fan, wasn't he?

I don't think there's any particular significance, he's a huge Cubs fan, but he loves the Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks and all things Chicago.

He tweeted that "the whole thing was about trauma" and you can clearly tell that's the case, the trauma increases as the album goes, so remarkable to make this kind of art that bleeds into life and vice versa after starting off with a whimsical character years ago that seemed like a one off. This dude has taken what DOOM did to a WHOLE nother level. Not a single artist I can compare him to. I fucking HATE the word genius, but Geti might just be one (he's not, but he's as close as it gets).

See I'm over here thinking the cross-town rivals signify different halves of the bicameral brain and betraying one's team allegiance symbolizes falling off the wagon, or some such shit. But you're probably right. Dope album though. And I agree, really cool to see how far he's taken this character.

Coolest shit though is someone who works for the Chicago Bulls media department caught wind of the Dennehy track and loved it so much they had Geti re-record a Bulls only version of the song and they filmed a video at the United Center that will likely be used during the games. Might end up doing one for the Bears, Hawks and Sox too. I got to attend the Bulls shoot, shit was surreal.

Jel & Odd Nosdam just surprise released a new project that has been in the works for the past 7 years. Recorded throughout Northern California’s East Bay between 2012-2019, the project features production wizardy from both of the aforementioned producers, as well as vocal contributions from Joji Kojima, Martin Carlos Ward and Jel himself.
