I'm not really an expert on Serengeti, but he's usually not as funloving as he is when he's Kenny Dennis.

I think if you check out dennehy and family and friends you'll get a good feel for what he is like though.

yep

New song is great, the Kenny character gives him the flexibility to make the shit as absurd as he wants it to be.

I don't know much about this dude, but I did randomly buy this album several years ago off amazon after hearing one of his songs.

Shit might have been like eight years ago time flies like a motherfucker. Haven't listened to it in a long time but recall liking it. Dirty lo-fi chopped beats and zany self-deprecating lyrics. I would be interested in hearing some more stuff.

I love this kid's style, it's so off the wall without being corny or gimmicky and man I have new found love for Jel's beats because "Shazam" is so damn ill and remember Shaq don't want none...

That's what I thought after the first listen, but it gets better with every listen. The lyrics sound really haphazard at first, but when you really make out everything he's saying it's just brilliant throughout. He's invented his own comedy rap lane/genre and has fully fleshed out characters he can play off of each other. The whole narrative about his appearance on American Gladiators, the skits with Ders (especially 50th birthday), the vibe set on songs like "Bang Em" and "Punks", and his overall willingness to go down that rabbit hole.

I felt the same, I thought it was a strange departure from the hilarious EP, but this has some amazing stuff after a few listens. Like you said, he's set the stage so well with Dennehy, Teachaz, and the EP to dive even deeper down the rabbit hole. Songs like Kenny and Jueles is equal parts  and beautiful. The hardest to decipher was Punks and West of Western, but both of those have gems all over them, not to mention some great production. All 4 skits work, and I guess we are getting some new Grimm Teachaz material. It's so strange to be so invested in a character I can barely explain to people, especially anyone who didn't grow up in Chicago. Like I know Kenny saying "you say what Steve la Steve?" is the funniest shit ever, I just can't explain it to anyone else.

i hear you for sure.

Nosdam really did some nice stuff beat wise. I would imagine its not as fun if you arnt from chicago because you miss so many references. Being out here my whole life i just identify with the kenny character so well.

Reviewed the new one- http://thoughtontracks.com/2013/07/02/a ... dennis-lp/

Like I said earlier I wasn't sure about this album at first, but it's greatness became more clear a few listens in. Very unique album, probably won't make many album of the year lists, but it's a great example of Geti's creativity.

Finally got around to listening to this. I'm not from Chicago but his character is funny as fuck, I don't care where you're from. The beats are solid too....nice album.

Great news.

NOT EVEN SHAQ FU COULD KEEP THA GRIMM TEACHAZ DOWN.....

We dropped the first part of this previously "lost" project back in 2011 and it's about time we finished the job. Big shout out to Tanya Dennis for finding the OG masters in her father's garage. Props to all the Teachaz fanz out there.....

So in 2013 Geti has dropped:

SAAL
Kenny Dennis LP
There's A Situation On The Homefront Pt.2
Firebird Logo
C.A.B.

How is he not on the Rapper Of The Year poll?

Because outside of maybe 10 people on this board who follow/obsess about the guy, nobody is checking for him? But yeah, he's my favorite rapper, and his output this year has been incredible. You forgot about the new Yoome-June album:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/june/id686176600

I'd put SAAL and the Kenny Dennis LP on my top 10 list. Really enjoying the new EP, like Guun said, last 5 tracks are great, production is stellar on this whole thing.
