Troy Ave (NY coke rap)

i feel like this is something the board may enjoy. i'm kinda surprised there hasn't been a thread on it yet

dude has a few mixtapes but none are that one consistent definitive project yet. Bricks In My Backpack 2 from last year was close but like many mixtapes had some filler and occasional lost focus. the highlights of what he's released thus far are pretty good though, makes me optimistic for his future.

he deserves to be in the same convos mentioning Bronson, Exquire or Mayhem lauren (he's already kinda there actually). something that's a bit progressive but also has a lot of appeal to traditionalists

First heard of Troy Ave. from that comp you did a while back. Motion Picture was my favorite cut on there.

to add to all that above, dude has also done some pretty amusing freestyles, flipping current hits with a coke theme. his inevitable hypeman for this is a dude called Avon Blocksdale, which is great in itself

this is one of the few times where 2dopeboyz is actually worthwhile, they posted all of them (most of them at least). some of these were already on steadyb but not all

I like 501 Basic Blues, a lot! Some of the other joints I heard from him in the past came off a little generic but I am gonna listen more on the basis of that track.
