Flatbush Zombies

I'm pretty sure drizzle has everything by these guys now and blastmaster knows their raps word for word but school me on these dudes. Didn't see a thread for them either. I usually don't dig east coast groups that have a bit of a southern style to them but this shit goes in.

Well I'll be damned.....I thought I was gonna get a late pass from either you or driz on this one. Yeah, they seem to be better doing a southern style but they still have a twist of that east coast to what they do. Wasn't expecting to dig it as much but the music is pretty solid and they vids are well-done.

yup

they got a few tracks i really like, their Gucci Gucci freestyle is the shit for example. Laker Paper and Suspiria are also pretty good. I'll add them below

But there were a few I wasn't too crazy about either, Thug Waffle was kinda meh to me and I think the song only got a lot of attention based on the outlandish title and video. Generally I think they're another group that got too much exposure too soon and that might have hurt them more than helped. They don't even have a mixtape out or anything of the sort, unless they got some physical release that they're selling out of the trunk without putting it on the net, which seems unlikely. I think they maybe have 10 released songs total, if that

their tumblr is indeed absolutely mental, i wouldn't recommend opening it at work. at its worst it's like a fetish porn site X rotten.com. but if you're curious its http://www.flatbushzombies.com/

given the amount of bloggers who embrace anything new just for the sake of saying they were on it first/early, its getting to the point where its harder not to be a 'blog superstar' than actually be one.

nah. there are hundreds of young artists out there who'd kill to get as much attention as these kids do. it's a fair bet that at least some of them are making much better music too

getting some blog to post your song isn't that hard at all, but getting to the point where you can drop a mixtape out of the blue with no promotion and it gets posted on a hundred sites (most of which you didn't even send it to) in a matter of the afternoon is something else entirely

not that it means shit either way mind you, it's a relatively small measure of success in tangible terms and even at that it's instantly fleeting.
