nice
thx homie

listening to this, i gotta say i'm glad they strayed away from the 808 trap sound and more of that raw golden era style. on either style of production they sound good. just good to hear them more beats that doesn't sound like how all of D.R.U.G.S.'s sounded.

Club Soda ft. Action Bronson is that shit doe.

All this plus besides the KA album and eXquire tape this is my 3rd favorite release of the year. "Regular And Complex" will be a top 10 track of the year at the end of 2013.

I was just thinking we need a "Is Exquire done" thread. Kismet was pretty blah IMO.

Is exquire done?

He had some good energy 2 yrs ago but as we all know....time waits for none.

He got signed and dropped that EP wit that horrible Gucci Mane song and faded.

Flatbush ZOmbies is pretty meh, but this tape ain't bad.

I keep wavering between optimism and indifference on Exq

The idea of him or at least somebody like him (eg new-age NY rapper who is actually skilled and strikes the right balance between weird and grimy) is better than the reality of his output

I think the potential is still there, that hasn't changed. It's more of a matter of what he's gonna do with it, if anything at all. It seems like he needs a label that can help shape his career in a way that actually capitalizes on his strengths. Whoever he signed with last year didn't do shit for him, they just claimed him at a fleeting moment when it seems like weird internet rappers were actually gonna make money.

eXquire will probably never top "Huzzah"/"Song That Never Ends". Dude peaked with Lost in Translation, imo.

Lost In Translation was dope. I even liked his Xmas tape. It seem like as soon as he got signed he got shelved( even though he dropped ep's and that forgettable kismet tape)

I liked his potential but he aint got enough going for him to be a full package or more than a fleeting moment like so many talented.

The one with the beard can't rap for shit. I had to skip each track the moment I heard his voice. To me it's like, why is the dude who produces sticking with these kids? He's the only one who sounds any good and he's making all the beats. That's definitely some go solo shit.

Yea overall I agree. The reason this new tape is so dope is because of Erick Arc Elliot (The Architect.) He leveled up tremendously between each release and If he went solo I wouldn't be mad at him. I could tell this tape was going to be serious by the random joints they dropped on different compilations over the past year ("36 Chamber Flow" from the Fools Gold Loosies joint and "Inf Beams" from Rosenberg's NY Renaissance release.)

Yeah Erick's verses on the shit stand out more than I thought too. He's the perfect contrast for the high and low pitch voices on this project.

Flatbush Zombies - Better off Dead is currently in rotation and I must say ... I'm pleasantly surprised. Somebody mentioned that the new Underachievers project is doo-doo. Are The Underachievers comparable to Flatbush Zombies? My brother's been raving about them but I've never actually gotten down to listening to any of their projects. How does their first mixtape / album sound compared to Better off Dead? If it's southern influenced then I think I'll pass ...

Anyways no complaints from me. Flatbush Zombies are the shit. Never listened to their first mixtape so it really never affected my perception of them.
