Idk that a big claim, SS1 and the pre-SS1 Tree EP still hold up really well. I think I instantly put a * when ranking anything that he didn't produce himself too.

"The 3rd Floor" is extremely underrated. Scion EP is better than SS2, IMO.

Scion EP & 3rd Floor are my favorites. I also like The Tree EP

I do think this new EP is better than anything he's done with another producer. I think it's up w/ his best stuff. It's definitely one of the most easily replayable records hes ever done

Am i alone in thinking Sunday school 2 is his best album? Like, it's not even close for me.

agreed

SS2 is a weird case, every time I go back to it I enjoy it a lot. It's a little too long and drags in the end but there are some really really great songs on there. And yet somehow it feels like a misstep that he never recovered from, at least his career momentum didn't. I can never quite put a pin on why, maybe he lost some of the mystique by putting out a more polished product? That's a pretty dumb reason but I can't think of anything better.

I consider the first Sunday School his best work by far.

That's so weird. I felt part one was weighed down by too many guest and the beats on 2 were far superior. I mean, i like a lot of SS 1 but it's not even in the same category to me as 2. To each their own I guess.

Part of it is probably sheer nostalgia. I spent a great summer listening to that shit at the beach every weekend. But now that you bring it up, the guests on there are amazing: Tone Skeeta, GLC, Chance the Rapper. And personally, I like the dirtier beats of SSI, DIE!, Church, Amy, and the way TREE sounds so raw over them.

SSII is probably the "better" album in the sense that it's tighter from a songwriting perspective (I gave it a glowing 4.5/5 review for TMT), but SSI just sounds like a revelation. It's probably one of my favorite albums of all time.

The Tone Skeeta tape TREE produced is not to be slept on either btw.

TREE has lots of great songs. But on the whole, I rarely listen to any of his albums front to back.

Let me see what my favorite TREE songs are.

3 B's (The Oprah Ballad) (The Lit)

Check For My Niggaz (SS 1)

Good Shit / Roses (SS 1)

NINO (Young Giftz & Tree)

Like Whoa (MC Tree G EP)

Probably Nu It (MC Tree G EP)

Safe To Say (SS 2)

Busters (SS 2)

So Bad (SS 2)

Chicken Pocks (tree + crack)

Kicked Out (tree + crack)

Naan (tree + crack)

Bonus: Know You (VicTree)

Agreed. There are videos for a bunch of the tracks at https://www.youtube.com/user/3mctree/videos" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My favs are There U R, Like U Used 2, Letter to My Sons and Letter to Project Mayhem, but the whole project is great. Definitely my favorite thing he's done since Sunday School.
