Ghostface X Adrian Younge (updated with first single)
tentatively nursing a hope that this will be even half as good as it could be in theory
it probably wont be, but that poster alone is worth a thread

Donnie, I mean Zombie, you're out of your element.
The return of the mask is worth a thread by itself. I agree that most Ghostface things over the last decade haven't been anywhere near as good in practice as they are in theory, but here's to nursing that hope.

Re: Ghostface X Adrian Younge
the guy that did the black dynomite soundtrack, among other things
this ghost album comes out on the same day as a new Delfonics album which Younge also produced in its entirety. which makes TONS of sense. i don't even want to think of possible cross-pollination that could occur, that's just setting myself up for disappointment.

Every Ghostface fan on this forum is bipolar. If I remember correctly Apollo Kids was pretty well-received here. I think I was one of the only people who thought it was worse than Big Doe Rehab and Wu-Massacre.
RZA serving as executive producer should definitely raise some eyebrows. They haven't worked together on a full project for a while, RZA claims he's the only one with the perfect Ghostface vocal mix setting, and to his credit, Ghostface's voice sounded kinda off on Apollo Kids and Wu-Massacre - both of which RZA had very little if any involvement in.
I hope Ghostface keeps releasing albums into his geriatric years. I mean he's Ghostface. C'mon now.

All naysayers have faith in what Adrian Younge can do. If you haven't already listen to his Something About April project. This fits Ghostface perfectly considering how he raps over older tunes.

Re: Ghostface X Adrian Younge
Not really feeling the Ghost verse that much. Liked the original with just his sample better.Employee wrote:http://www.xclusiveszone.net/2012/09/ka ... -god-flow/
Re: Ghostface X Adrian Younge
yeah i gotta agree with sillykid here, this shit has a very very low chance of not being really good at least. I guess since the collab with doom has stayed on the backburner, he decided to hook up with another extremely talented music maker. At this point, this will be much better than him just doing another album with multiple producers.siLLy KiD wrote:anyone who thinks this isn't gonna be dope is out of their god damn minds.

Yeah, i was very excited when i first saw the poster.
If this isn't at least very good, I can't get excited about anything anymore.

It got pushed and I'm not sure what the new release date is or if there even is a new one yet.
