HD - I Just Wanna Be Free feat. Blast Holiday & Hen Sippa
this video further verified my earlier assumption that cellski is now sponsoring 100% of rappers in the bay w/ his chemical baby clothing. the tweak is heavy bruh

I hope 2013 is better than 2012 was. Yeesh.
Re: Bay Area Thread 2013
it seems as if 2012 was a year for some of the younger talent to start to develop themselves. cousin fik, iamsu! & hd all had great years. philthy rich dropped my fave bay rap record of 2012. that mike larry/jack dani3ls video w/ blast holiday & mistah f.a.b. was the best song i've heard from two rappers i'd never heard of in a long time. e-40 was consistent once again.blastmaster wrote:I hope 2013 is better than 2012 was. on the negative.. will we ever see a husalah record? the mob figaz album surely is never coming out. half of thizz got locked up & some of the biggest attention the bay area got all year was from drake

Re: Bay Area Thread 2013
I was reassured via twitter by Husalah's manger or somesuch that the album was gonna be dropping like last summer, bay area chinese democracy. Some reliable blog dudes say theyve heard the many songs hes made already for it and theyre fire but hes just sitting on them. Its frustrating cos hes one of those dudes like Peedi or Gunplay who has enough talent and personality to be a massive star but just cant seem to get out his own way, least he doesnt have their dunderhead stage names in fairness.
TY$ is another dude who ran 2012, hes not from the bay but I kinda lump him in cos of the Mustard connection (not from the bay either but he mays well be)

Anybody heard the new Nio Tha Gift album?
Re: Bay Area Thread 2013
i have no doubt a husalah full-length still has potential to be excellent in 2013.
some bits that show promise from 2012 (even tho he probably doesn't have the best verse on any of these songs):
- Handsome (Feva feat. Husalah & Franchise)
- Imma Boss (Street Knowledge feat. The Jacka & Husalah)
- Still 88 Fresh (feat. Young Lox & Mitchy Slick)
- 100 (Traxamillion feat. Joe Blow, Philthy Rich & Husalah)
- Been Awhile (Dubb 20 feat. Husalah)
i just hope his recording regiment includes an actual pen & pad and not just 22 different soccer jerseys and 30 pills of molly

AP.9 - Funky Expedition
Conscious Daughters sample >>>>
RobLo - Gunned Down feat. Blahk Jesus, Husalah & Lil Rue
Rydah J Klyde - Run Dat
anyone else notice rydah's voice changing over the past year (shouts to homie who mentioned it in the youtube comments too)? in this case heavy slurring (much more than his regular lisp) and on berner & joe blow's last tapes much more raspy than usual. not sure if it's intentional or just a byproduct of poor care (or being drunk/on drugs).. but it hasn't yielded great results. he sounds fucked on urban farmer

I don't see the appeal of HD as a solo artist. He can barely carry a verse, let alone a song IMO. same with lil rue. they both suck.

Re: Bay Area Thread 2013
Those Rob Lo and DB songs are good - Speaking of voices changing, anyone notice how DBs graduallly been toning down the rough edges on his flow? Like he heard the complaints about his voice being abrasive and listened, its especially noticeable in in the DJ Upgrade song above. Normally I be mad since that ghoulish alien noise he makes is half what I love abut him but its actually sounding pretty good.
Im no HD expert and Ive kind given up checking for Rue cos hes mostly flim flam but hes definitely had some classicsodium-LSC wrote:I don't see the appeal of HD as a solo artist. He can barely carry a verse, let alone a song IMO. same with lil rue. they both suck.

Right now Stalin is the only one in Livewire who can rap. Those other guys are as average as you can get.
Even Rue sucks these days but at least he raps like he means it. If he starts making songs in a professional studio again I believe he could make a decent album still.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

How is Stalin the only one who can rap if he's singing sweet nothings all the time now? And lil rue is a real life dope fiend you can hear how little he cares on every track so I have no clue what you're talking about.

lol @ even mentioning rue in the same sentence as livewire in 2013
as far as livewire rapping is right now:
01. Philthy Rich
02. J Stalin
03. Lil Blood
04. Stevie Joe
05. Shady Nate

gonna let the spam chopper rip one time in here
I did a long ass interview with Davinci about his neighborhood (Fillmore), his label and Bay Area rap in general. It's in 3 parts. You should read it cause it came out dope
