I'm a big Kanye fan, but I just didn't get the last album. And I still don't get it or like it all that much. It's supposed to be this avant-garde, amazing art piece (at least according to him) but it just comes off as rushed, and the complete opposite of avant-garde. Just because you make Rap (or Pop) music that sounds anything but what one thinks of as that type of music, does not mean that you achieved your goal of being ground breaking. And make no mistake, that is always his goal. Sometimes you just miss the target and the best thing to do is kind of get back to your roots and make the type of music you should be making. I read an article with some dude who was producing with him and he literally said "as long as it doesn't sound like a rap beat, I'm down to listen".
