"Real Friends" was produced by Kanye, with "sample by Frank Dukes and Boi-1da" and drum programming by Havoc.

So he didn't find the sample and he didn't program the drums. So how exactly did he produce the track? lol

Beat-making is just one aspect of producing. We went through this in like 1999. You know Puff Daddy doesn't make beats either, right? He just tells Stevie J how much cowbell to add and whatnot.

I like the song. A lot, actually. Wasn't hating, that line in the description from the site I quoted just sounded funny to me the way it read. I don't really care, but if you don't dig for the sample and you don't program the drums, you're more of an arranger or engineer than the actual producer. In hip hop, anyway. I mean we're not talking Quincy Jones here, despite the "genius" tag Kanye gives himself or others give him.
