Italian Horror Sdtk Battle (Rd. 1 - Genre)
The time has come for the battle to commence. But here are a few rules.
1) There are three rounds. If you fail to not turn in a beat for your round, then you automatically get zero votes. You can still do your three rounds but every beat will have to be in by Sunday at 11:59pm EST/8:59pm PST. A week from the day the samples go up or after the next round. If something came up and you're unable to submit your beat, hit me up on the PMs to let me know.
2) I'll post an email where everyone can send their beats to. I prefer that you use something like Soundcloud or Divshare since the forum is already customized to handle those links. So, send me the link (no mp3/wav/etc. attachments), your name, and its all good.
3) If you did not sign up in the original thread for the battle, you cannot participate in the this battle. You can download the samples used in it but, do not post up beats you made in the thread and you're not even a part of the battle. Your posts will be deleted if that happens.
4) Remember how the rounds are set, too.
Round 1: Genre - at least three albums will be available for this round
Round 2: Album - just one album while you can select songs
Round 3: Song - a song from this genre everyone will use
5) All links come down after time its time to submit your beat for the first round at 11:59pm EST/8:59pm PST. So whether or not you're part of the battle, you should get it while you can. Doing this to avoid any copyright issues that may arise.
6) Submit all beats to pfsoundlab@gmail.com. Remember divshare or soundcloud files only.
So now the moment you've been waiting for.

Also at the end of the entire battle, we can do a beattape of each round that folks can download. If anyone is interested, let me know.

yeah, i figured. try these links instead. not sure if they'll work but this site is usually good for this stuff. let me know this time if they work at all. probably need a different plan for doing this in the future.

Re: Italian Horror Sdtk Battle (Rd. 1 - Genre)
So no synths unless they're synths that are sampled off these right?
Re: Italian Horror Sdtk Battle (Rd. 1 - Genre)
You can use your own synths. Just be sure to not over do it.

I updated the rules, too, if no one has noticed. After the round is over, links will be deleted.

i think it would be cool if the producer's names were hidden for the voting and released afterwards

Re: Italian Horror Sdtk Battle (Rd. 1 - Genre)
I just recorded a song to my beat, which i feel kinda weird about. On one hand i really like how the song came out but on the other hand I know 9 other people just touched the same records that i did and probably most of them are also recording stuff to theirs. This should be an interesting year for releases on this board

Re: Italian Horror Sdtk Battle (Rd. 1 - Genre)
so these are really the soundtracks for these horror movies? they are suprisingly lighthearted/jazzy/funky at times, seems weird. i have never seen any of these movies nor do i want to

Re: Italian Horror Sdtk Battle (Rd. 1 - Genre)
just finished mine. was a lot of fun. i'd like to play around more but im busy this weekend so i sent it in without further ado. i hope i will be able to participate in the next rounds because university is starting next week
agree with citizen was surprised of how some of the songs on this soundtrack sound. but then again after thinking about it i could imagine it in some cheesy 70s/80s horror flick
i have another Question to the Mods:
should the samples used be named or shown in its original state?

Re: Italian Horror Sdtk Battle (Rd. 1 - Genre)
I'd rather make that optional. It would be cool to note where you got everything from, but I wouldn't make that mandatory.

These are some pretty amazing records for samples. I'm taking this in an interesting direction that I hope won't turn most folks off.
