his album has been tinkered with for a decade. this is not even what he handed into jay years ago.

”His album is amazing, it’s remarkable. It is the perfect… It goes hand in hand with ‘Yeezus’ and ‘Magna Carta…’.

I really hope that's not true because if Jay Elec's album goes hand in hand with those two albums that means it's a giant messy turd.

That Bullits album that got released features three tracks with Jay Elec on it. Not sure if that's even a good sign. But at least there's something out there with him on it. Just hope the production for his album is harder than what the Bullits album sounds like.

just so we're clear the delays don't have to do with the label. that supposed shit about hov holding it back because it "lacked singles" is bullshit. he's smart enough to know elect is not one to chart. the delay is on jay himself. if you follow him on twitter and you catch his drunk spells which happen maybe twice a year sometimes he talks about being paralyzed by expectations and fear. he moved to london he left badu he's clearly not a stable individual. i don't think we'll ever see the album. maybe a few songs.

Isnt he like 35?

Rap is mostly a young mans game.

To get the opportunity he has and squander it would be a shame.

yup Despot is the same, too many goddamn expectations and people asking about it. We know these guys are talented, we know they just need good production...problem is, I don't think they realize how talented they are.

I'd be somewhat content with someone remastering all the shit that's floating around already. Some people like that hissing cassette feedback sound, but I'm not one of them.

he's had his chances time and time again. unless he drops a single that is close to exhibit a or c, he has little buzz that will generate any kind of album success.

plus he is very disconnected and unaffected about any public image. he found his sugar mama and he is set. whatever he does at this point is for self interest.
