this has potential but i fear that jay's influence over raekwon will lead this to being more poppy instead of gutter. as long as the beat is good it'll be listenable, let's hope.

I vaguely remember RZA taking a few shots at Jay Z/Rocafella in an interview but that wouldve been late 90s I guess (if it happened). In my head, that 'soul for real...fisher price: my first timberlands!' skit on Wu Tang Forever was directed at him aswell.

Rae will make a record with pretty much anyone these days anyway. Seems to be trying to make up for those lost years in the early 00s when everyone pretty much stopped caring about him.

People said Ghost dissed Jay on Apollo Kids and some song that was on a Dj Muggs mixtape.

Its not that usual that there haven't been any collabs before, as I see it. Wu mostly worked with their own crew in the 90's, at least for their own albums, and Jay was always busy promoting the people around him (Roc) and branching out to other markets (e.g. cameos from Juvenile, UGK) or trying to fit in with current trends (J. Cole, Eminem).

No real reason. Just that they were taking shots at "jiggy" rappers and R&B influenced stuff and Jay seemed like the main target at the other time (other than Bad Boy who RZA seemed cool with).
