You have way with the "sound" and the flow of rhythm. I almost started to think you were a "Lounge head" from back in the day but...I highly doubt it.

Stick around, you'll grow more confident with the rhythm as time passes by.

Behemoth, your use of simplicity is self-defined and much appreciated.

Tap the vein, tie the belt
Trap the pain inside yourself
They tried to help, friends and family
Funny how they say it puts an end to sanity
'Cause it's your shrink, your long leather couch
Your way of gettin' out when you're pushed to the brink
Look at the sink...that porcelain and mold
As lifeless and cold as what you're forcin' in your soul
Shit ain't been workin' out how you was plannin'
No one lives here, this house is abandoned
There's no residents, there's no innocence
Just that damn drug and the tan love it represents
"Represents"...not really is
You ain't had real love since you seen your kids
A three year bid here, holding cell there
Habit fed by cashin' checks from welfare
Who the hell cares? It sure ain't society
Since day one, couldn't become what you tried to be
Why should we have to lose our pride in suits and ties?
You'd rather commit suicide...
And that's what you been doing...a mercy killin'
Antihero fighting the perfect villain
Kick it, quit it, kick it, quit it
But you breathe it, live it, need it, give it
More chances than it deserves
Dragon chasin' with collapsin' veins and cancerous nerves
Each sun ray makes you think of how your sons played
And when you'd take 'em to school every Monday
One way or another, they'd have to be stolen
By that reoccurring habit you'd "broken"
Daddy was smokin', Momma hit the bottle
The needle is your savior, that drama, its apostles
It made you lie in shit...every time you try to quit
You're reminded it's what's killing you that's your survival kit
Trapped in the dark...
This ain't livin'
Empty house in a condition that matches your heart
Crashed from the start, and life's been a slow burn
You always helped others without waiting for your own turn
So you think, maybe somehow that angel's forgiven you
For running away with the Satan that lives in you
And if it's true, you can only hope that your seeds
Are strong enough to resist that dope that you need
Watch the opening bleed...let the tears drip
As you sit where false comfort and real fear live.

On some  poetry shit, maybe...but feedback is appreciated.

Bottoms Up

I forgot why I even started drinking today
Was it general malaise or some bills I didn't pay?
Could've been an incident just like most of them are
What started out in my head ended up at the bar
Spilled to the pad play some Nas, "It Ain't Hard to Tell"
Why me and my liver don't get along so well
That's cuz I like to get bent beyond all recognition
But I only stay faded to escape your field of vision
Not to mention, what I'm sippin, got the strength of 80 midgets
With a stomach full of gimlets and a host of bad intentions
Three sheets to the wind, I'm bout to tie one on
Thinking I could probably fly once this liqour is gone
If I'm wrong, its ok, I'll shake it off and stand
Cuz it ain't a long fall from a fucking tall can
Since drinking alone is frownd upon it seems
We'll call it quality time with my buddy Jim Beam

(At home we get faded, In the booth we get drunk
Chilling with some friends we just get fucked up
There's gotta be a reason, I just don't know what
But I sure won't find it out with an empty cup
So bottom's up) X2

The homies say I have a problem, I tell them that I might
So lets pour another drink, we could talk about why
See life put me through the ringer, I came out the other side
Feeling battered and bruised, y'know barely alive

So I self medicate and the prescrption is filled
Let's get a bottle and a cup and drink like we've got gills
But for real, ninth grade was about where it started
Boosting bottles everyday from the local supermarket
How retarted, we were young and so obviously faking
Pouring 151 into McDonalds milkshakes
In retrospect I really can't see how I passed
Slurring through oral exams in third period spanish class
But I grasped the habit and it developed quite nicely
So if we're doing lunch I'm going stronger than an ice-t
It might be that drinking's a little contradictory
Makes life so hard, yet feel so easy
And I've gotta feel sorry for people who don't drink
Cuz they wake up every morning check the mirror and think
"My current mindstate I hope it feels ok
Cuz this is probably as good as its gonna get today"

(At home we get faded In the booth we get drunk
Chilling with some friends we just get fucked up
There's gotta be a reason, I just don't know what
But I sure won't find it out with an empty cup
So bottom's up) X2

(not to any particular beat or song, but obviously the first four bars are just the "hypnotize" track)

Poopabitch, pooopabitch, canג€™t you seeeeeeee
Iג€™m scared of your anthrax gettin inside me

because your crazy ass might blow us awayyyyyyyyy

i donג€™t want Feds in my house explaining the patriot act

stay off that fermented piss and shit that make your eyes do tricks
leave the math to me and live your life like T.I.P.
In a rugged cell with a southern male twice your width
only thing lethal about you is mac lethalג€™s height
thereג€™s not a quality about you white people like

cuz they prefer to have all their pussy from Paris
besides your pussy is too bushy and matted
youג€™re Bush, Iג€™m John Adams, youג€™re kush, Iג€™m blue magic
i wonג€™t lose to this loser even if he is a loose cannon

it's been a long time, this a re-introduction
i teach like kris, kinda preachy but don't touch kids
i reached for this, it's time for my come-uppance
i don't speak with fists 'less my peeps are dissed
i don't serve for tips plus you can keep the dish
we see seamless scenes, a sea of sickness
we're self-hating, self-abusing fiends with whips
modern self-flagellation, "I NEEEEED A HIT!!!"
i need them kicks; i need them pounds
we beatin ourselves up when we already down
already clowns are looking for the new trend
yet another addiction on which to depend

---------------------------------------

pops ain't dependable, moms ain't dependable
fuck the fact they got jobs, you still resent the two
life writes stories, some are not legible
we mistake em for each other like the gods intended to
god could be your master or god could be your bitch
but if i ain't afraid of death, i ain't afraid of shit
god could be your mission or a product of your whim
but if i'm takin care of self, i ain't takin care of him
and if he wanna help me regardless of my wish
we got words for that, self-righteous, pretentious bitch

---------------------------------------

how these rappers expect me to stand their rhymes
when i'm barely patient enough to stand in line
i'm dodging land minds in the sands of time
evading the paradigm, refuse to pantomime
what you can't define - you can't deny
you'd rather listen to something that you can rewind
down to the damn bling and the passion to shine
i rap solo, don't understand bands of guys

SleepWell

Post by Radio Raheem »

How do insomiacs dream? In between the stars and daylight
Such a twisted type of blessing not to know which one is real life
We'll brace against the moonlight and stare into the sun
Rub your eyes and open up, can't tell if sleep or day is done
So you're facing either one with the same sense of suspicion
Hear a hidden crypitc message in the nightly faucet dripping
Each blink means something different somehow its all the same
Watch intently moving lips expecting them to speak your name
Living somewhere near the edge but don't notice till you fall off
Then float and gain perspective of the day that you have just lost
Grasping at the last straws you're sure that your awake
Till you're distracted by the shadows and the shapes their voices take
And each face only holds familiarity in nuance
You're not sure where you're going, or how you got your shoes off
Travel at a snails crawl but still you feel worn out
You stop to take a breather and your teeth fall out your mouth
All of a sudden you're confronted by dozen weeping friends
In a long white hall, there's a casket at the end
Rush to the front to open up and see who occupies the space
Heart stops, jaw drops, cuz you're staring at your face
You check the date on your watch but all the numbers are jumbled
Then the second hand stops and the scene around you crumbles
You stumble of cliches trying to walk into the light source
Wonder if you should pray but lose your thoughs to the white noise
In a dark void paranoid searching for the off switch
Destroying decoys at war with your subconcious
All logic seems flawed so resistance is a waste
Hear your alarm, open your eyes, earn your freedom and escape

We work blue under red lights
Keep it clean when the sun shines
Search for life in the dead night
Close our eyes in the daytime
Blue under red lights
Clean when the sun shines
Life in the dead night
Eyes in the daytime

dope intuitive writing. i feel you could improve it if you got rid of some of the more obvious rhymes and kept it within the same theme some more.

You're improving a whole lot from the earlier stuff I read.

I'm having a hard time "figuring it out" but most of these lines are very dope on their own.

Imagery is 2ndIInone, very vivid and I feel the hook (?) at the end wraps it up melodiously. Good contrasts.

Very well-written.
