Kinda. He says some shit on Rap God about how he gets shit for mixing hip-hop with rock and whatnot, and that's where the problem lies. Like most rappers, Eminem has absolutely horrendous taste in music outside of his genre. I'm willing to bet he owns at least 3 POD albums. So when he tries to make his "rock" songs, they sound like they're made by someone who owns 3 POD albums. Dude is a walking rap encyclopedia, and every now and then shows that as far as he strays into weird, awful genre mixing, he can do the rappity rap rap shit better than most rappers whenever he wants.

This is one of the main reasons i never liked Em much. I can only think of a couple songs he's done where the production didn't bother me ("infinite", "takeover", "any man").

He raps so proficiently on "Rap God" that I don't even notice the beat though. That's what a great rapper does. Nas has the same problem but sometimes he raps so viciously that people don't give a fuck.

That third verse kills Kendrick's verse on "Control".

Maybe I'm hyping this too much but I'm really digging the hell out of this track.
