and, how much money does interscope throw at them to have Slaughterhouse do a cypher every year? it really is the only time they're even allowed on television.

damn near the whole thing was ehhh.

Let's not spend ONE SECOND pretending that Kendrick Lamar's "dis" to Drake was anything but fucking SOFTBATCH WEAKSAUCE DELUXE that Drake can obliterate with a scathing 4 bar subliminal or just an all-out verbal massacre. The majority of Kendrick's punchlines did not connect or impress, that high five was TOTALLY and corny, and most of the time he was rambling not rhyming. This is why Drake's from 'The Language' was honestly on-point: "I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY BEEN LYIN', BUT YOUR SHIT IS NOT THAT INSPIRING"

Jay Rock and Isaiah Rashad did decent, but not super timeless, and the rest of TDE didn't say shit impressive. My dude Ab-Soul seemed to have lost his mind and heart

Slaughterhouse was the best, but none of them did their best work. Crooked I's flow and syllable structure game was fucking NEXT LEVEL but he often does that. Royce's line about Drake and Halle Berry's baby was funny, but that was the highlight. Joell Ortiz is losing weight but killing mics. And Joe Budden's line about "I could moonwalk sideways" was the best thing he spit, yet he ended it off not as strong as he started.

Jon Connor was cool, Rittz was flippin the Bone Thugs flow quite tight, Tiffany Foxx is hot and half decent as a vocalist but not original enough to change the game, and Lil Kim really blurred lines between her and her nemesis Nicki Minaj, she becomes Nicki for microseconds, then becomes Kim again... so funny how their beef just simmers because they both are versions each other. Shit won't be right with those two girls until they do a record together.

B.O.B. was sorta good and really bad, they spelled Iggy Azalea's name wrong LOL and that girl sounds like 5 female rappers in one, and T.I. was solid if unremarkable.

Action Bronson's Ghostface biting went to astronomical levels in this year's BET Cipher. I don't know how people can listen to such blasphemy and not get up and turn it off.

Wax was fucking incredible, actually, if anyone paid attention to what he said. Wax is the evolved white man. That's why Def Jam was like "we can't have Eminem success with you. Eminem still hates b!tches. Wax, you're trying to enlighten humanity. This isn't going to work out."
