Cypher 1 – Wax, Rapsody, Emis Killa, Rittz, Jon Connor

^Wax was WACK AS FUCK, not to mention kinda nerdy!! Jon Connor was obviously the illest.

Cypher 2 – A$AP Mob: Ferg, Twelvy, Nast, Ant & Rocky

^What a GARBAGE cypher with a buncha WACK RAPPERS!! *shaking head*

Cypher 3 – Action Bronson, Star Life Breezy (Sprite Contest Winner) ,Travis $cott, Tifanny Foxx & Lil Kim

^Bronson was cool, but Travis $cott was wack as fuck!! And lol at Lil Kim. haha #smh

Cypher 4 – Slaughterhouse: Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, Royce da 5’9 & Joe Budden

^This was the best Cypher overall, but why the fuck has that Joe Budden clown made it on to so many Cyphers over the years??? FOH!!

Cypher 5 – TDE: ScHoolBoy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Isiah Rashad & Kendrick Lamar

^Pretty good Cypher overall. Ab-Soul and Kendrick for me on this one, and yeah, Kendrick KILLED it!!

Cypher 6 – Real Husbands Of Hollywood: JB Smooth, Dwayne Martin, Boris Kodjoe, Nick Cannon, Nelly & Chocolate Drop (Kevin Hart)

^What a joke!! Sure it was a little entertaining and kinda funny, but still. FOH!!

Cypher 7 – Asia Sparks, Bad Lucc, Problem & Astro

^Didn't see that one and it's not on the website either... *shrugs*

realistically, if it wasn't kendrick, people would be dismissing the verse as some backpacker/ruckus era shit.

I liked that TDE shit but the high-five between Q and Kendrick was possibly the lamest high-five ever given out...like getting a high five from your mom because you cleaned your room when you were 10 years old type shit.

The irony of the whole recent 'lyrics back' shit that Kendrick kicked off is that nobody will ever say the b or the r words out loud despite the obvious parallels. Up until very recently that era was derided like a shameful memory, so nobody wants to own up to it

they really like giving kendrick more time to rap than anyone else. has me wondering how BET sets up these cyphers and asks the respective group members of each cypher to divvy up their alloted time, because they can't let everyone have lengthy writtens like that. didn't joe budden or royce do that last year? who was it who kept shouting rihanna's name?

and, how much money does interscope throw at them to have Slaughterhouse do a cypher every year? it really is the only time they're even allowed on television.

i haven't watched the ASAP MOB one or the Slaughterhouse one yet.

for those unfamiliar with Jay Rock, check his verse on this banger. He raps last, hardest verse of 2012 without question.

damn near the whole thing was ehhh.

Let's not spend ONE SECOND pretending that Kendrick Lamar's "dis" to Drake was anything but fucking SOFTBATCH WEAKSAUCE DELUXE that Drake can obliterate with a scathing 4 bar subliminal or just an all-out verbal massacre. The majority of Kendrick's punchlines did not connect or impress, that high five was TOTALLY :roper: and corny, and most of the time he was rambling not rhyming. This is why Drake's :copy: from 'The Language' was honestly on-point: "I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY BEEN LYIN', BUT YOUR SHIT IS NOT THAT INSPIRING" :omar:

Jay Rock and Isaiah Rashad did decent, but not super timeless, and the rest of TDE didn't say shit impressive. My dude Ab-Soul seemed to have lost his mind and heart

Slaughterhouse was the best, but none of them did their best work. Crooked I's flow and syllable structure game was fucking NEXT LEVEL but he often does that. Royce's line about Drake and Halle Berry's baby was funny, but that was the highlight. Joell Ortiz is losing weight but killing mics. And Joe Budden's line about "I could moonwalk sideways" was the best thing he spit, yet he ended it off not as strong as he started.

Jon Connor was cool, Rittz was flippin the Bone Thugs flow quite tight, Tiffany Foxx is hot and half decent as a vocalist but not original enough to change the game, and Lil Kim really blurred lines between her and her nemesis Nicki Minaj, she becomes Nicki for microseconds, then becomes Kim again... so funny how their beef just simmers because they both are versions each other. Shit won't be right with those two girls until they do a record together.

B.O.B. was sorta good and really bad, they spelled Iggy Azalea's name wrong LOL and that girl sounds like 5 female rappers in one, and T.I. was solid if unremarkable.

Action Bronson's Ghostface biting went to astronomical levels in this year's BET Cipher. I don't know how people can listen to such :wutang: blasphemy and not get up and turn it off.

Wax was fucking incredible, actually, if anyone paid attention to what he said. Wax is the evolved white man. That's why Def Jam was like "we can't have Eminem success with you. Eminem still hates b!tches. Wax, you're trying to enlighten humanity. This isn't going to work out." :fail:

(wicked22, for the first time ever: i agree with the board. your rap opinions are horrible. please forget that i exist)

will never watch again. what's wrong with Ab-Soul? Doesn't he demand we expect the most from him? Schoolboy is still the entertainment in the crew. Rock plays his position commendably and Kendrick is like some Eminen/Ice Cube hybrid that seems to be unstoppable.

With that said I still don't really care about TDE worth a fuck whodie.

While Joey BADA$$ and the Pro Era crew weren't featured during the BET Cyphers earlier this week, that hasn't stopped them from releasing their own crew cypher (in black & white too) with help from Statik Selektah...
