I can't believe how long it's taken me to figure who your rap style reminds me of...

Deuce Leader.

Maybe you're unfamiliar with him. I don't know. But the resemblance is strong.

I've been compared to probably over 100 MCs.

Some people have said:
"you're the Canadian Del the Funky Homosapien"
"Saafir meets Busta Rhymes"
"Busta meets DMX" (someone who saw my concert)
"Digable Planets and De La Soul"
"Redman meets Gandhi"
"RZA-like"
"Lord Fury on the Killah Priest song"
"Busdriver meets Aceyalone"
"most glorious conspiracy theories since the days of Public Enemy"
"Pharoahe Monch from space"
"moonhowling space tranny Canalien"
etc.

thank you for listening, my friends. I'm finally about to fucking get this shit right.

good things come to those who wait. this shit is a marathon, my ninjas. not a sprint.

just shot a video yesterday that honestly felt really really good. it's called "F.Y.I.", and it's kind of a sequel to "F.A.I.L." :leon:

stay tuned

Super affected voice + sound effects + beat that gets progressively more annoying make this really hard to take. More raps, less window dressing.

I was anticipating a remake, or at least sample, of this:

and the name Baconhead got me thinking of:

Experiments should be just that, and when they turn out like this, you don't release your monster into the public to feast on the ears of other humans.

this is the part where I remind you to stop being so fucking stupid, didsbag.

it's ART.

people WILL have different opinions on it. other people in this very thread have enjoyed the song.

YOUR opinion is not the only one in the universe, motherfucker. step down a bit from Mount Ego.

uh, yeah they have.

Digable Planets and De La Soul? you REALLY can't see ANY comparisons, even vague ones, between their Afro-centric positivity and Supreme Being Unit's Afro-centric positivity? Black bohemian hippie dudes trying to spread peace and love and positivity with abstract poetics and feel-good lyricism over earthy/spacey beats?
then you're not even trying, ha ha. or you just hear differently than others.
fair enough.

but i'm NOT lying.
Now Magazine made the comparison.
and just this year is when someone wrote "you're like Redman meets Gandhi" on my facebook wall.
I would NEVER lie to any of you guys. I don't need your attention that much

Good to see you're staying consistent with your stance that positive reactions = constructive criticism, negative reactions = jealous haters who's opinion doesn't count

not all negative reactions are destructive and not all positive reactions are constructive.

i gave a song. give what you want.

thank you for giving an insightful thought, if you actually happen to do that.

I think the song is OK. I've listened to a bunch of your tracks over the years I've been on here and I always end up thinking "this guy could make something I'd really like, but this ain't it". I can't really put my finger on why that is overall. I listened to a few of the other tracks on Baconhead's SC page and I think the beat for this track is the weakest of the ones I listened to, so that doesn't help. I'm not posting to "hate" as I rarely post in here.

Mindbender has long been one of Hip Hop's most progressive voices.

Thanks fam. This is actually the mildest song out of everything I've made with Baconhead.
This is a remix version, and I thought the original beat was more vicious. But I still dig this.
I still haven't made my FIRST GREAT SONG.
Not for the world. I think it's close.
I like this more than lots of other rap shit out though.
Hip hop is generally so underwhelming that I have been listening to my own music to hear creativity. :bunk:
The arrogance!

Haha!

I think as far as the beat goes, I like the lead synth line and the hint of bassline that kicks in every now and then, but the latter doesn't happen often enough so it allows that weak (IMO) beat to be the underlying focus of the track. It draws my attention away from the vocals.

Mindbender + the right producer = some good shit, I reckon, but I think whoever the producer is needs to make beats that suit your particular style. Maybe that lack of a good "marriage" is why I've not been particularly taken with your tunes up to now.
