People You Wish Hadn't Started Rapping?

Post by B. Ware tha Siniq »

Not thinking so much about rappers who just suck here, as artists you liked in one capacity who decided at some point to pick up the mic and it's either changed the way you feel about them as artists slightly, lead to them wasting great beats on themselves as opposed to more talented artists, or it coincided with other aspects of their craft falling off.

Examples I can think of:

Alchemist

J-Love

Madlib

Imagine if The Infamous and Hell On Earth was 100% Prodigy rapping and Hav stayed behind the boards.

Probably an offensive thought-experiment, but I wish it was so. At least we got HNIC before Prodigy forgot how to rap.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Well, would you rather have 3 Quas albums or 2 legit Madvillain albums?

Im a pre-prison Ballerina P fan and obv Hav has some classics but yeah. Probably means theyd be a lot less prolific though. Im listening to P's audiobook atm and its way better than the proper book, his voice is a plus and he raps a bit but its all about the silly voices he puts on impersonating people and occasional sound effects/cheesy stock music scoring

Havoc was a lot better on those early albums than he gets credit for. Everyone wants to hear Prodigy so they end up just tuning Havoc out until P gets on, but if you actually listen to Havoc's verses, he kills it.

Yeah agreed but Prodigys one of the goats imho. Its not like Havoc was a producer turned rapper either, he rapped first, he actually wrote some of P's rhymes early on.

Ok, let me re-phrase that since youre a siniq/cynic.
When did you notice that Madlib was getting bad to you?
Youre right, Silkk was never good. I thought this meant never was good to begin with.
