Milliard is a terrible writer, but it takes effort to come off that poorly in an interview. I feel like calling this dude a 'troll' is giving him far too much credit.
he's literally saying that he's putting more of his life on the line by becoming a youtube rapper than "a stupid person that began life as a poor, violent man" would be by pursuing the same career, because if he wasn't successful, the SEO results would prevent him from ever getting a job because he said 'kike'
writing off that volume of quasi-to-outright racist shit as 'trolling' is at best myopic and at worst willfully ignorant

Ack and Nero, he said this part for you...
Sure. Totally. I understand what you’re saying. I don’t know what answer you want from me, I wouldn’t expect kids to understand brilliant satire. I wouldn’t expect kids to understand complex satire

Is it really brilliant and complex satire though?

IMO he just made a racist song and video to get attention and now hes trying to explain it away with some lame irony and pretentious meta-nonsense.

This guy reminds me of Icesickle and his "social experiment".

Your opinion is incorrect then. If anything, he's biting an old Louis CK bit where he explains why being white is so great. The song is clearly tongue in cheek.

Didn't explain myself too well in that post.

But this is how I see it: White kid goes on youtube and says "RACISM (ironically lol)" to get attention. When he gets called on it he can barely explain what hes supposedly trying to say/do and manages to say a bunch of mildly racist stuff in the proces.

Ah, That's different. But I still don't think it's that deep. It's a joke song. it's not even that controversial an idea.. Like i said, it's been done.

But to say the song is racist is crazy. It's a joke. He definitely didn't "explain" it as well as he could have (to be fair, he seemed pretty much checked out of that interview from the jump) but explaining jokes is the worst and way too common nowadays. It's sad that people are constantly forced to do that cause everyone on earth has to be offended by everything at all times.

The point is that he has set out to create satire, a fact that the people I mentioned were trying to dispute.

I'm not even bothered by the fact that this kid seems obnoxious to no end, but I really can't support a rapper who can't get bitches on tour. Besides all of that, I mean, he's not bad, I don't know why ya'll are treating him like the great white hope though.

^Is anybody in here really talking like they'd listen to an album of his? i don't think so. He's got a few funny songs and "lemme freak" is legit awesome (as comedy raps go) but, otherwise, I don't think most people up in this thread are jocking him at all.

How can anyone possibly listen to 'White Dude' and think it's racist? The entire song is an analysis and criticism of racism.

^that's real dope & pretty much answers every criticism in this thread.

full disclaimer: i think lil dicky is too talented to be classified as a novelty rapper ("white crime" knocks) and i even went to his show with a girl who wanted her picture taken with him, then said the picture was too blurry and made us wait another 20 mins to get another picture with him

dicky got fans yo

I really don't see how that video helps the pro dicky argument. I mean the whole concept, which is also extremely outdated, is inherently racist. I mean what's his thesis here? rappers (see black) are all gangsters from the hood, are prone to random violence, but he's different because he's reasonable and intelligent.

Not to mention the fat black secretary who gives out indiscriminate blowjobs. Mark my words, this guy's gonna be a barometer. If someone says they don't like rap but they like dicky, they're definitely a racist.

All I could think of when hearing that "song" is "where would I play this?" It's literally rap about rap, it's almost barely even a song.

I feel bad for you if you would actually play that "song" out loud for other people to hear
