I bought both on the same day too. I didn't truly appreciate it until years later. It was so much different to what I was used to listening to. Dope record.

^ Me too.

Very good album. Highly innovative. There are a lot of albums I prefer over this, but it has its place.

8 Steps To Perfection is the shit.

"Since you're my special friend..."

Bought this while I was having a spell living in Holland. Got fucked up and listened to it every day. Think it permanently affected my mind.

18 years. Shit.

this is the album that got me into checking for more independent underground artists from ny & in general just for its diffrentness at a time when i was only checking for artists from mainstream labels worldwide whatever the style

krazy kings, 8 steps is my shit

Seriously tho, this album is monumental, and for better or for worse, changed the course of underground rap.

Fuck the haters.

Def getting old. I was in college when this shit came out. Damn. I actually had the original Funcrusher EP on wax. The full LP added nicely to those joints even thought it missed Corners. I guess it was for the better in terms of the cohesiveness of the album. I guess not that many people were too up on them before this album aside from heads who were really into the underground NYC shit because when this full LP came out I remember everyone going crazy over it, but they had joints prior. Juvenile Techniques was a underground classic by that point.. 8 Steps as well. I saw them with Organized Konfusion at SOB's right around when the album dropped. They killed it.

I actually prefer this one, but I'm not a graffiti writer. What gets me are the parts that are about graffiti but also about more than that, the end piece with the whole "soon you'll learn to conquer these lines" shit.

But yeah. Classic album, no doubt.

I enjoy End To End Burners and 8 Steps. I never heard this album though. Can't imagine hearing it for the first time in 2015 would really work.

vital nerve was always my favorite joint, followed by 8 steps. i mostly just listen to the single, but yeah dope LP

krazy kings has a super ill beat in the verses but never was too keen on the chorus tho - those horn stabs are mad loud by comparison

damn now this dude totes a big hedonistic diabetic emotional crybaby civil rights protester oversized black t shirt connoisseur from atlanta around for street cred
sounds like its own special brand of hell
being stuck on a tour bus hearing #blacklivesmatter tv news 20 hours a day
killer mike rewinding himself on the dvr
"hey el-p, remember that time last week when i wore that huge black t shirt and went on the bill maher show and we gently yet intensely stroked each other with left wing political tenets? lemme show it to you"
outkast already hit that and quit that bro
any follower of the religion of pimp c wouldve said that means you want to suck outkast dick
its simple math really
as RTJ bounces happily over supposedly dystopian tracks with glaringly pedestrian mastubatory rhyme patterns
there is my run the jewels review

*sole voice*
i love company flow i i i i i lllooo llllove lllovve commpanny fff ffff llll ooo wwwww

dissention/the kill the pig and pay the rent invention

man company flow is my shit, and there are always at least a couple of the songs on my phone at all times
i switch up the music on my phone quite often too
its good for the constitution

Other than the "independent as fuck" bragging, I think this album holds up just fine...

I would def advise for stepone to listen to this album
