If i had journalistic ambitions i might write a short piece on their demise in this space. This thread is designed as a catch-all so that angry, ageing wu-stans can stop clogging threads about relevant/contemporary music.

CZARFACE is the best album this year!

Anyone using the term 'relevant' when discussing music should be beaten over the head with a rusty shovel until they acknowledge that they're a fucking idiot.

Where does Method Man rapping over a French Montana beat or Raekwon killing it on his verse on Freddie Gibbs album fit in to your grand scheme?

rather than bicker i will engage you on reasonable, respectable terms. bet you weren't expecting that.

we all saw this coming miles away. ghost carried the torch for years, but if the music he continues to record were able to inspire excitement among lifelong hip hop heads, he would be relevant. as it stands, he failed to capitalize on the hipster idolation of the wu canon and his spot has been taken by an obese pasteoid whose disgusting eating habits apparently qualify him as a chef.

dropping 3 albums (according to an unnamed witness, whose identity is being protected) and not making the preliminaries for the year end poll qualifies ghost as irrelevant. what does that mean? you're a dj, right? it means you don't play his shit on your show. do you? might you be irrelevant too??

Wu Tang's output has been patchy for the last 15 years s not sure why you're acting as though this is a recent development worthy of being discussed for the 84,648 time.

I haven't heard Meth or Rae's albums and didn't hear any of Ghost's recent releases but people copped them. They were discussed on social media. They still tour and fill decent sized venues. They might not be selling the amount Drake or Kanye does he never did but Wu were never really in that bracket even at their peak apart from maybe when Forever dropped but that wasn't exactly filled with pop hits and club bangers)
Labelling music as 'not relevant' because it doesn't qualify for the end of year poll on a board with about 20 regular posters is dumb as fuck.
Getting salty because some people still listen to them and you don't is also dumb as fuck but the most dumbest of fuck thing of all is the idea that any music can be relevant/irrelevant. I mean, it might be irrelevant to you, but who are you? You're a faggot on the internet and what you actually mean when you say 'not relevant' is "I dont like it" and "its not fashionable to like this" which is fine but to suggest that means it has no place anywhere is (guess what?) dumb as fuck.

Several tings "problematic" with Darth's posts.

1) Action Bronson is actually a trained chef. He attended Art Institute of NY's culinary school and worked with the NY Mets, albeit briefly in both cases.

2) Ghostface sonned him by talking over a soul record.

3)

4) Wu-Tang is forever motherfucker.

^maybe i should be thankful for that. my worry is that you give them a lil lane, maybe czarface 2 or some wack shit like that makes the year end poll as a sop, and boom all of a sudden people are posting recordings of killah priest teaching sunday school.

Killah Priest been getting props. He dropped a 40-song album about space spirits with no skippable songs. Fuckout

I don't think there's been a single rapper at any point in history who could drop a 40 track album with not one skippable track.

Planet of the Gods isn't the 40-song album. The Psychic World of Walter Reed is.

Wu-Tang sucks now because theyre old and old people generally dont rap well.

The Raekwon mixtape where he raps on old soul loops is the last decent Wu-release we will ever get
