consider how most effective raps is making jokes (wordplay) but given in a matter of fact tone (Big L, anyone?) and now that's the state of rap: the entirety of a joke rap career as a whole, and it's just the fact of the times now.
dudes don't come from skills on the street corner. dudes just make outlandish music and play it off as if they're serious.
