My First Chemistry Set by the slimmest of margins over Covert Coup.

I'll be the guy who casts the sleeper vote for Masterpiece Theatre. I feel like Willie and Al complement each other's styles better than anyone else on the list. Even though that's just an EP and even though Albert Einstein and Covert Coup were both amazing, Masterpiece Theatre was/is the most replayable on the list IMO.

Vote Rare Chandeliers for the most disappointing on there.

Great poll idea btw.

a lot of solid stuff here but Return of the Mac is a top 10 NY album of the 00s (of the century so far really) so that one without a doubt

durag dynasty, step brothers, the fashawn albums and the budgie thing were all pretty zzzzzzzzzz... Alchemist is maybe the best producer out rn (at least for 30+ ears) but he doesn't always pick the most exciting people to work with and he should never ever ever ever rap himself

Did alchemist produce all of step brothers? I thought Evidence and Alchemist did it all together.

Not sure I even heard the antidote. When did that drop? Before boy meets world?

Al produced every track except one that Evidence did, so I decided to include it.

The Antidote dropped in '09, 'bout a month before Boy Meets World.

Alchemist is so damn ill. Top 5 producer ever imo.

Really surprised to see Return of the Mac as the leader. That album is cool, but there are so many better ones he's done. Covert Coup is my choice. My First Chemistry Set is probably his weakest shit.

360 Waves is underrated, phenomenally produced album. Gangrene albums are also amazing, obviously Oh No contributes largely to that.

Next question would be what is Alchemist's best beat? Impossible to answer. Open Mic Night was a favorite of mine forever. His work on Evidence's solos have been amazing. The Red Carpet beat....

co-sign this statement, he's on par with guys like dj premier, pete rock, and extra p, maybe more versatile than those guys.

voted for albert einstein, but with the mad underrated "rare chandeliers" project, he took the muted drums genre to the next level. unfortunately, action bronson sounded kinda boring on this one...

I'm very surprised "russian roulette" wasn't listed as I think this is one of his most impressive works of the last few years.

^ Russian Roulette is excellent.

Would also like to give that No Idols album some props. A bit more subdued, less layered production from Alchemist, but very good.

I enjoyed No Idols a lot the year it came out too, haven't really revisited it since then though.
I've never even heard of Durag Dynasty. WTF is that?

Album from 2013. That and City Under the City were my two favorite albums from that year. Excellent stuff, beats are bonkers. Tender Greens is a top 10 favorite Alchemist beat of mine.

Planet Asia, Tristate, and Killer Ben form the group. Appearances from Evidence, Chace Infinite, Phil da Agony, and Prodigy. I like the rapping, but if you like profound or thematic raps you might not like it. They are mostly rapping about rapping and how their squad is the dopest, shit like that.

Return of the Mac and by a nice margin too. Album reinvigorated P and the mesh was perfect. No flaws to me.

Return of the Mac is the best Mobb Deep related project since Hell on Earth.

Carrollton Heist is better than Covert Coup for what that's worth.

Liking one of those things does not preclude liking the other.
