The Battle of '93

Another classic year. Omitting Wu Tang because it will likely run away with this if included.

There will likely be some options that will get zero votes but every year in the early to mid 90's has like 30 great albums at least so wtf can you do? I'm already leaving off like a dozen great albums because they will likely get no votes.

Pencil in a vote if you wish..

My inclination is to always vote for any of the first 3 Tribe records, so I'm personally acting like it's not there. Also because that Black Moon album is so fuckin rugged. Love that shit. Hard to not vote Souls too. As usual, can't call it.

Invaded my vote on which album I would enjoy listening to right now. Black Moon.

Every single one is a classic in my mind. Some true blue classics, some personal classics with the exception of Pac and Face though. Those were just good albums. Voted MM because it's the right thing to do.

Some other notable albums from 93:

Ultramag - Four Horsemen
Alkaholics- 21 & Over
Lords Of The Underground- Here Come the Lords
Freestyle Fellowship- Innercity Griots
Geto Boys- Till Death Do Us Part
Masta Ace Inc - SlaughtaHouse
LONS - T.I.M.E
Fat Joe- Represent
Tragedy- Saga Of A Hoodlum
Cypress Hill- Black Sunday
Guru- Jazzmatazz

Let me know what I missed..

Few others.. Great year, but not on the level of 90-91, 94-95.

I'm excited to see 94 and 95!

I'd take Akinyele's Vagina Diner over the listed albums any day!

From the list, DLS or ATCQ.

IMO, out of the first half of the 90s, 93 has been the weakest year for hip hop.

Ahhh Nice one! Totally slipped my mind. I'm burnt. I should probably refer to something on line to be sure I don't miss shit.

Classic Large P productions on that LP. Slept on!

I don't really listen to any of these albums anymore, but Doggystyle takes this.

I'm not sure 36 would have run away with it if it was in it. Either way, heard all these albums long after they came out. I voted Enta Da Stage but could have easily gone with Midnight Marauders or Doggystyle. Surprised there are no votes for ROTB to be honest.

Of what I've heard, I'd consider 36, MM, Enta Da Stage, and Doggystyle to all be 5 mic albums, ROTB to a 4.5. Crazy year.

voted doggystyle but 36 would have to get the nod from me if it were an option. it's close though, both LPs are legendary.

Voted KRS because I've been listening to his post-BDP stuff a lot lately.
