Mad people have this album at the top of their lists. I've never heard it, but I'll give it a listen.

As long as Nas and Jay are around, you can't keep them out of the elite section imo. They both have the ability to make special music at anytime, despite any recent shortcomings. I'm in my late 30's so it just doesn't register with me to say Drake or even J. Cole are elite, but for a 25 year old right now, it could be the case for them if they have been listening to those guys for the last 8 years or whatever. Generations are always going to have their thing, and although it may not be my thing, I can't hate.

But I thought this might spark some convo here because there are members of this board who are younger or even close to my age but are still into a lot of the newer music and artists.

I don't think Pusha T is overrated. I've always thought he was underrated if anything. Not Esco levels of love for him, but I think he is a unique MC with a lot of skills albeit one dimensional.

Also find it funny that people who think Drake and Chance are elite are lumping Kanye into the 2nd Tier when they are all hype beats who follow every and anything Kanye says or does.

the list is more right than it's wrong but i can't entertain chancing. his best track is on kanye's album.

nas & jay are wack now. i agree they have potential to black out outta nowhere but the last time hov did it was "we made it" remix. he sounded rusty on all the guest appearances this year. plus old heads ballriding "nas career done" was probably the saddest thing i've seen in 2016.

cole has a couple darts for old heads in this new vid. then he goes right in dissing yachty/savage/whoever, which made a bigger splash. those two have put out enjoyable music this year but they are kinda retards who can't rap. thugga for eg has musical talent that these guys aren't really touching. but no one who used to ride for lil b/yung lean has any business looking down on mumble rap imo (lol just checked the trash list lil b is on there)



and the kanye dis that autoplays after is remorseless. haven't got around to the new album gonna peep tonight.



anyways this list is pretty orthodox for the "25 yr old who has heard illmatic" demo. skimming a but more i duno what poolboy Q is doing up there when his album this year was BAF (boring as fuck). although "that part" goes hard.
