read an interview with big Boi. Dude said Andres contract and contract holders are super fucked and its really that hard/basically impossible.

but it makes you wonder if some of the shit on this album is at least ghost produced etc by andre.

If all these were able to secure a verse and they aren't even his fucking partner, then that's a problem. In fact, I think it says something about their relationship.

"30 Hours" 2016 Kanye West The Life of Pablo

"The Ends"[17] Travis Scott Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight

@phila
you could be right. I don't know. but if andre was really making that music where's the album? do you think it's just rich man syndrome? maybe andre really is like next level whacked out on some miles Davis fusion shit or something in which case the label may be like ehhhhh..... and big Boi is like ehhhhh....

big boi and andre 3000 are both two rappers that are overrated in different ways.

of course, the first couple of outkast albums were good, but the barrier for entry into every household was way higher too.
i'm sure there were better southern rappers, even from their hometown that just never had the funds or
marketing or luck to make it into the position that outkast ended up filling. even goodie mob can be considered.

I've only given it a semi once over. But it sounds shockingly smoove. I put it on for my work drive and didn't feel the need to skip anything. It has a consistent sound that rides out nice.

Better than his other solos that had a lot of corny sounds.

But I need more time to absorb it.

Pretty boring to be honest. The last song with Currensy and Killer Mike is dope though. Can't find a production list, but sounds like Mannie Fresh produced it.

This. There isn't anything outright bad on it, but it's just a bit dull with no real standouts to speak of.

im gonna have to listen again but upon first listen there are high notes but nothing like eye poppingly out of the atmosphere a la she said ok or raspberries or the a to say anything of past albums. album felt like it could use an andre injection. please bring back outkast. not saying its a poor album but it wasnt like tingling all over for me the whole time

i havent listened to this album yet but fun fact Big Boi seems to be the only major label artist to use Scott Storch for a beat in 2017.
