RIP to one of the best. In my personal favorite top 5 of all time. 94-2000 as good or better than any MC.

Re: RIP Prodigy
Fuckin terrible. Really sad. Stayed Relevant in the game for over 20 years. Adopted to the times and constantly looked to promote independent rappers over the years. Went on a run from 95-00 that few can match. One of the greatest rappers of all time.
RIP.
RIP.

Like I said, top 5 for me easily, but that's just me. Top 15 should be a no brainer for everyone.Philaflava wrote:We all have him in our top 15? Think vintage P!
Re: RIP Prodigy
As others I have mentioned, his run from 95-99 was amazing. Been listening to a lot of Mobb/QB stuff in the last few months. Came across some great freestyles when i've been ripping mixtapes too
DJ Clue freestyle over Motherless Child, 1996

You Ain't A Killer freestyle, 1997
http://djstepone.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10 ... -1997.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If These Walls Could Talk (aka Snitch) - unreleased, 2001/02
http://djstepone.blogspot.co.uk/2017/06 ... -2002.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
15 minute freestyle on Tim Westwood's show, April 2000
http://djstepone.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04 ... -2000.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Interview with Funkmaster Flex, Sept 99
http://djstepone.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02 ... 10999.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
his last verse (2:52 onwards) on this is just sick. This is up there with the all time classics

Rest in peace to one of the best ever. Mobb and P's solo albums have been a huge comfort in some of the worst times of my life. This is devastating.

Re: RIP Prodigy
I couldn't have said it better. As soft as it sounds, Prodigy's and Mobb Deep's music has been a huge part of my life. Their catalog is so dense, there's just a lot to explore once you really catch on to their sound. It just fits perfect for those dark times (and also good times). This hurts bad.seagrams hotsauce wrote:Rest in peace to one of the best ever. Mobb and P's solo albums have been a huge comfort in some of the worst times of my life. This is devastating.

Re: RIP Prodigy
It's not soft at all. P could relate pain and struggle in a way that was incredibly relatable on an emotional level. As dark as it could be, his music has provided a much needed release and ease in some dire times.GUCCI CONDOMS wrote:I couldn't have said it better. Not close to top 5 DOA to be fair, but one of the few that rode for the East when it all went down... P, Tim Dog, etc
saw Paz on twitter saying how dope P was and in my mind I was like yeah sean price was dope... then I saw it... was pretty shocked even though none of us should be... guess he's been sick forever we forget how serious a disease like this is... my boy's cousin barely made it to 30... Rest in peace P

I had a friend growing up with Sickle Cell. The pain is unimaginable from what I know 2nd hand but close. P suffered badly, worse pain than most of us could ever imagine.

Re: RIP Prodigy
Bit too wiggery... his lyrics got to the edge of absurdity... I liked him more in his "return of the mac" type roles... Definitely feel like he maybe had another one of those in the chamber... sad shit... maybe we'll get some unreleased jawnts from alc in the coming months
