The regular version with Juvenile, Skip & Wacko which blew up is technically a remix because the original version was a Wacko song from some random obscure compilation:

i feel like between early Death Row (91-94 or so) with Dr. Dre putting all sorts of alternate extended remixes on his 12"s,
and early Sir MixALot (86-88) also doing lots of remixes of his own tracks, you had some really prolific stuff going on.
you'd have 5 versions of the same song, and nowadays a remix for a single is hard to come by.
