Can we talk about the white lad who 'Wax refers to as his CEO?

Rey, what's the deal with him?

Obviously.

What I wanna know is, what's his deal? Is Pie-Rx now just a front for gunrunning?

From what I can tell, he's a financier. He came into the picture right around the Natural Disasters time period. He's the "IllBurn Records" kid who spends his share of the family business/ inheritance money the way any right-minded wealthy young man would do; pay his favorite indie artists to release more music.

:icedit:

And I don't want my post to read too snarky because the guy is likely responsible for giving Wax a second wind.

Yea Lito spent his own money to put Recession Proof together. Fantastic album that has never left rotation.

Also, I always wanted to know who the mean-muggin' bald saltine in the Natural Disasters is, because he gets way more screen time than any of the other goons?

That "Everlasting Money" album is fire. Anyone have a link? (PM ME)

Anyone know if this was released on hard copy? I see a spot to pre-order a cd on "we the west" but no confirmation it ever came out.

Dude claims he was supposed to have a record deal with the Sinaloa Cartel on one track

Anyone peep the newer mixtape from 2016 on Spotify? Haven't gotten to it.

Pretty sure I've seen physicals of EverLasting Money. Kinda doubt they would've been bootlegs.

Hustlas' Convention? Yeah, there's a couple slaps but it's not Pullin' Strings / EverLasting Money level or anything.

Here's the new jawns from over the last few weeks:

https://soundcloud.com/waxfase/always-something" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://soundcloud.com/waxfase/ones-on-you" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://soundcloud.com/waxfase/lemons" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Speakin' of mixtapes and Spotify, is there any way we could get some of Wax's older, more inaccessible shit posted back up in this thread? Or if not that, at least send me a private message to some links. 'cause some of it is on YouTube and / or Spotify but I'd prefer to (re)download some MP3s if possible, and not ones ripped from YouTube if I can help it.

Requesting:

2003 – Grimeyness Compilation
2004 – 5 Shots of Cognac Compilation
2004 – So Quick... Like a Heist Compilation
2009 – Bay Rider The Gang EP

I have all the others downloaded I think, if anybody needs any of those.

:icedit: Thanks to ADR, ANU and IDAL for helpin' out.

Even Rey didn't know the answer to this, so I don't suppose anyone else here knows where the song sampled at the end of the Savage Timez intro comes from? (00:44 to 00:52)

I assume it must be the late 90s prison demo he posted a snippet of on IG last year because it's a whole different sound to Savage Timez or any of the Woodie shit he featured on.

Maybe I'm not representative of his fanbase but I deleted this album from my hard-drive instantly and put on Pulling Strings instead.

Auto-tune sucks balls. It's a shame to hear such a dope rapper fag his style up like that.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Pretty much agree with CQ, although the problem is as much about the corny trap production and trendy flows as much as it is auto-tune.

His music has no regional identity now and you'd think he was just some generic Atlanta trapper.
