Anyone still blogging?

Post by DJCommunist »

I know we have a blog self promotion thread but I don't know where it went. I'm looking for mixes, articles, videos, anything--if you have a podcast or blog please post it here!

I very much like The Martorialist media conglomerate, hosted by this forum's very own IDAL:

Pink Chardonnay: https://pinkchardonnay.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Hotbox Social: http://thehotboxsocial.tumblr.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Only Built For zShare Links: http://djstepone.blogspot.nl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Step One's blog)
Electronic Music and Lousiana Rappers: http://sisilafami.tumblr.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Rap Music Hysteria!: http://rapmusichysteria.blogspot.nl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Drive Slow: https://redlitedj.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There's some other good ones out there, I'm sure. I check the majority of these blogs almost daily.

There's been some other good but sadly now defunct blogs, for me most notably Noz's blogs (from Cocaineblunts and tumblinerb). Sadly he is no longer actively blogging, hopefully he does have his traditional year's end list though.

Yes I blog. It feels nice to make other people happy on the daily with music and art. The next phase of my blog I would like to get into is creating more paintings of my favorite songs, doing private art commissions for music lover's homes.

I'm no longer a strictly Hip Hop blog because I think there's more than enough of them out there. Plus I can't listen/focus my attention on that genre day in day out anymore at my age. Instead I explore all the genres of music I hear used in Hip Hop in addition to posting the occasional classic Hip Hop.

If I stopped today, I think I've still got more than enough Golden Era Hip Hop to satisfy your eardrum. My latest, a rare gem from the vaults: http://cratesofjr.blogspot.com/2017/11/ ... lease.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I hope ego-trip comes back! Great content and they used to feature my blog posts on the regular. Maybe their in the background cooking up something else that'll be great for Hip Hop.

I love Wax Poetics, they still blog and are in my vein of being expansive with the history of music.
IRISH CRAIG still does his thing on Wordpress at his blog HOTASBALLS
http://www.rawdealradio.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has great tapes from the late 80's, early 90's
eBay can be like a blog for classic Hip Hop, I follow certain dealers who teach me a lot through their sales

^Yes, much appreciated for chronicling L.I. Hip Hop.

You can still count on PF member dirty waters for sharing a lot of golden era tapes. Hiphopbattlefield.com by MFGRIMM's partner and GrandGood find some cool stuff on the regular.

Lounging to this 2017 mix Diamond D played of original samples and breaks, a great way to spend the long holiday weekend: https://hiphopbattlefield.com/2017/11/2 ... ly-2017-4/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also, check out rare acetate master Umberto -Fab- Lampasona on YouTube. He blogs rare golden era Hip Hop and early to mid-80's electro Boogie.
