"Dr. Octagon 2" was a straight up bootleg and "Return of Dr. Octagon," while interesting, was a really bizarre album and never at all felt like a real Kool Keith album, let alone a proper sequel.
A legit sequel coming in April. Count me in.
I'm probably in the minority but I have enjoyed a lot of Keith's output the last 10 years, so I'll definitely be checking. It's usually pretty simple -- Keith's best stuff is never self produced, so this has a lot of potential IMO.

Saw Keith live last night and was a really good show. I had never seen him live before (or been to a rap show in years). Super humble dude too. He shook everyone's hand and took pictures with people.
He was talking about the new album a little bit, but didn't hear any new songs aside from the single.

i lazily recorded a Dr Octagon performance at SXSW yesterday.
the show was actually billed as Dan The Automator,
but as they were setting up, Qbert was on the stage setting his gear up
so I figured it would be an Octagon show. Actually,
Automator himself was the weakest link in the bunch
he can produce some good tunes, but his stage presence
and some of his mixing was off. anyhow, the footage.

All in all the album's pretty fun. Only a couple songs at the end didn't do anything for me.

I have NOT heard this whole thing yet front to back but some of the loose cuts I have heard is classic octagon... If you don't like a cut like operation zero or area 54 you never really liked the first album and you were fakin jax
EDIT: power of the world is CLASSIC Keith... That hook is fire... Liking what I'm hearing surprised there isn't more excitement

Was into the early tracks, but this album is pretty boring. Couple of listens in. Very little desire to go for a third.

After a couple of listens, it's just okay overall to me, but it's got some really strong moments. I really want to like it more than I do.
Will there be a Dr Dooom 3 at some point?

Which was the better sequel? Need to spend a bit more time with both albums honestly
