"Nas don't sound comfortable on them beats." - Rock of Heltah Skeltah gives his take on the new album, the critique starts at 30:24. He basically sums up what I'd been feeling about the album upon the first listen.

I've listened to Illmatic for 24 years. I have listened to Nasir 4 times.

I only play one song; it seems like Kanye cares more about Cudi.

White label straight to the end is pretty amazing imo. The opening tracks is cool but I don't listen that much and Cops is dope but after a few listens it's whatever. It's a great song but one that doesn't have much replay value.

Nas doesn't have that much to say at this point. Don't really need another album from him if it's going to be like this. Do a song or two a year and jump on some guest verses.

nas has one good album......and then a bunch of really good songs sprinkled in thruout his career.....this new album is a complete embarrassment and it still might not be in his top 2 or 3 worst

Disappointed that this thread doesn't have more posts from the :phila:'s Irish Nas fanboy contingent.

Nas: 'Nasir' Is the One Thing the Rapper Has Never Been Before – Dull

Nasir is among the weakest Nas albums, but there’s nothing spectacular about its failure. It is, simply, the one thing Nas has avoided being all these years, through revolutionary highs and car-crash lows: dull.

fuck kelis. she started this physical abuse allegation shit after a leading question from a gossip columnist. "did nas beat you?" "mm hmm". didn't even say yes. now she's pushing it to push up alimony.

every single person here would beat the shit out of kelis if forced to be in the same room as her.

I dont know why people get excited when RZA is said to be involved in a project. He's done next to nothing of note rap wise for nearly 20 years.

I thought he was great on Californication though. For what it’s worth.

If they come in focused it has potential. Nas clearly still has gas in the tank.

didn't RZA contribute a lot to kanye's dark fantasy album?

also the beats on 8diagramz are dope so step son needs to half that regardless.
