Dopest 97-04 radio joints?
Please, don't post Youtube videos as they tend to slow the loading down. I'm pretty aware of most songs if you just list your favorite titles.
I'm talking about Bad Boys 4 Life, Stunt 101, 24 Hours To Live, Overnight Celebrity, PIMP, Magic Stick, 4321, Whoa, add on.

Yeah, there's some that I find myself revisiting now that bring back good memories. I know some songs I might of real quick in the past due to it getting overplayed on radio/video.
The G-Unit era was cool. I prefer the earlier period of them being hot, like Stunt 101, I'm So Fly, the whole Get Rich album, the mixtape songs that got radio play.
I remember thinking Magic Stick was ok. At the time I preferred the dark 50 more and remember feeling like he was reaching for radio with that one. I was working at a mixtape store in Harlem at the time and his street buzz was up with the mix tapes and more gutter-sounding songs.
The Lox - Money Power Success = one of my favorite violin sounds in Hip Hop, such a small piece of a record they used for the sample but it works!
DMX - What's My Name, What These Bitches Want From A Nigga, Get At Me Dog
Saigon - Doo Rag, C'mon Baby
Alchemist | Jadakiss - We Gonna Make It
Beanie Siegel & Jay-Z - Anything
Ghostface & U-God - Cherchez La Ghost
Fat Joe - My Lifestyle
Alchemist, Prodigy & Nina Sky - Hold U Down
Scarface & 2Pac - Smile
Erick Sermon – React (feat. Redman), Music
Fabolous - Breathe
NaS - The Don
Naughty By Nature - Mourn You Till I Join You
Camp Lo's Coolie High

What was the best year for Dipset output? They owed one year in particular if I recall. Like '03 or something?

Best year of Dipset could vary from person to person. Me personally I prefer their time on The Roc. Songs like I Really Mean It, Oh Boy etc. I feel like their output started to get foolish when they started breaking the crew up into smaller factions. I 'm a big fan of Cam's diss to 50 "Curtis", the way he goes off at the end is hilarious.
Anybody remember feeling proud of Gangstarr back when Royalty blew up on the airwaves? I know I was.

yeah '03 was probably their biggest year, when they had the double album out. I remember visting NYC for the first time that summer. They were on every mixtape and posters for Julez' debut were everywhere. It was them and G Unit really.Philaflava wrote:What was the best year for Dipset output? My favorite on this comp is Cool J's Ill Bomb. I went to college a few blocks from The Tunnel. The compilations and soundtracks released from 97 to 04 are a good place to look and quickly revisit radio joints. Belly Soundtrack, The Nutty Professor, How To Be A Player, etc.
Tainted by SV was a favorite radio summer jam of mine.
