Best debut of the year, probably.

Stellar.

I gives no fucks what Lauryn Hill is saying when young gifted and black women like this are jamming in 2018

Not sure how this is a debut.*

Her vocals are too soft spoken for me to take her rap career seriously.

*Jay IDK once posted on Twitter that his next album is his "debut" album.
I said "you already put out more music / songs than biggie did in his
entire career. miss me with that "debut" shit."
millennial rappers smh

First time I heard her. Didn't find another album from her. If it's not her debut, oh fucking well. It's still a new album of good-ass music.

 @ that flimsy excuse to be sexist. You don't like Bahamadia or any other rapper with softer vocals than Onyx? :naswtf: :bunk:

This woman is EASILY one of the best MCs I heard in 2018, on first listen. Noname is fucking great, and actually deserves to be compared to Lauryn Hill.

Fuck, she's basically better than 2018 Lauryn Hill at singing and rapping on this album, Room 25. If any album is a modern day representation of 'Miseducation', it's actually this right here.

Sleep all you want. I'm not so foolish. :cas:

she put out an album "telefone" a year or two back. 10 tracks, consistent sound. "diddy bop" got a bit of spin i think.

telefone>>>>>>>this imo. so if u like it defo peep the old album. on this new one it sounds like she made a halfhearted attempt to evolve... changed her flow up on like one song, made a few production choices that didn't suit her (and a few that did). doesn't say much on the new one that she didn't say on the old one, her talk about soul in particular sounds like a retread.

i compare her to a hybrid of jean grae and chance.

it's a deliberate aesthetic, and it resonates with a lot of people who are intimidated by trap music. not everyone wakes up on a sunday morning ready to grind. sometimes u wanna feel softbatch for a bit (no  )

but yeah on a couple tracks on this new joint the vocals are mixed too low to actually hear her.

So apparently her ASMR raps and trap music are the only possibilities for rap music.

I see.
