Of course. It’s not debatable.

Esham is such an OG, most modern motherfuckers don't deserve to become aware of his legendary status in hip hop.

Integrity isn't something many folks know, and Esham DID HIS FUCKING TIME like a GANGSTA.

I'm so happy to see him get released. I remember when he went in. I still have issues of Rap Pages with his ads in it.

COME FUCK UP THE RAP GAME, HOMIE

Another F.A.I.L for Batti Stewart. Please stick to getting excited about Kanye West gossip and never refer to yourself as a "hip hop journalist" again.

I was :larry:-ing hard when LeBron said that.

Esham kinda sucked. Detroit’s gotta be the worst rap city in the US.

In terms of population and proximity to NYC, it's definitely Boston.

UGHH headquarters was in Boston. That alone makes it the worst hip hop city in America.

Yea Boston and DC both really blow. Three bad cities. I’d take fucking St Louis over all three based on Nelly and Da Banggaz alone.

Benzino vs. Doughboyz Cashout vs. Yung Gleesh?

Countdown to someone coming in and talking about EdOG and Mr Lif and 20 other shitbag cornballs

The fact that Eminem is far and away the best from there tells you a lot about Detroit rap.

I miss Dusty McFly. Buffies and Benihanas is a classic round my way.

Early Esham up until he changed his label from Reel Life Productiins
to Gothom Overcore was good. And a few years later, Spankmaster.

He's been downhill since then.

I think the only horrorcore exception outside of Esham as far as being the OG pioneers in the game is Ghetto Boys "Assasains"

As while we're on the topic of horror raps, there was a horror themed rapper / producer in New Orleans called Death. I think he ran with the group Ruthless Juveniles. His album "Possessed by the Ouija Board" is amusing.

Even more interesting is the interview he did for some New Orleans hip hop historian project.
Dude isn't playing with a full deck.

That whole Mobo Joe movement on the West Bank was fucking awesome. They had the best album art of any label ever. Their music was just uneasy and paranoid. Great stuff.

I'd add Garvediggaz to that group, as well as Esham's group, NATAS. guys paved the way for ICP, Twiztid and the whole pdychopathic records crew who Esham actually ended up signing with years later. Then of course you've got people like Necro and Ill bill and their whole crew of quasi-horror rap shit. Even Immortal technique, and of course cage's first couple albums
