Not surprising considering he willingly still stans eminem in 2019, or is that his attempt at trolling? :killacam:

Overall, it's been a solid year. A lot of good albums have been released, not sure I'd consider any to be great though. I know a lot of people have been praising how strong '18 was, however I've listened to about half the albums on the list, and I personally wouldn't consider any of them to be 4 mic albums. Overall, I think Daytona is the best album of the year, which is odd considering it's barely 20 minutes long. Aside from the list, others below were also solid.

The Alchemist - French Blends Pt. I & II
Benny the Butcher & .38 Spesh - Stabbed & Shot
Mach Hommy - Bulletproof Luh EP
CRIMEAPPLE & Big Ghost Lt.d - Aguardiente
Meyhem Lauren - Glass
Jim Jones - Wasted Talent
The Alchemist - Meat EP
Benny the Butcher - A Friend of Ours
Kid Cudi & Kanye West - Kids See Ghosts
Knowledge the Pirate - Flintlock
DJ Muggs - Soul Assassins: Dia del Asesinato
El Camino - Walking on Water
Ka & Animoss of Arch Druids - Orpeus vs. the Sirens
Mach Hommy - DUCK CZN
Cypress Hill - Elephants on Acid
Homeboy Sandman & Edan - Humble Pi
DJ Muggs & Roc Marciano - Kaos
The Alchemist, Currensy, & Freddie Gibbs - Fetti
WESTSIDEGUNN - HWHVI
The Alchemist - Bread EP

I'm perpetually very amused by Pusha dropping what's essentially a very polished version of a Griselda EP and it becoming the most acclaimed release of his solo career

Voted Benny, shit I enjoyed the most-

Armand Hammer- Paraffin
03 Greedo- God Level
Serengeti- 6E
Cavalier- Private Stock
Koncept Jack$on/Tuamie- Emergency Raps Vol. 3

Mach-Hommy killed everything as usual but there wasn't one standout project, probably like the last tape with Fahim the most.

You could argue that every track, maybe with the exception of WWMD is an absolute banger. I mean, those 6 tracks can beat any other 6 tracks off any other album this year. Is there any better 5 consecutive joints than to start an album off like these?

1. "If You Know You Know"
2. "The Games We Play"
3. "Hard Piano" (featuring Rick Ross)
4. "Come Back Baby"
5. "Santeria"

I won't argue that it's a very consistent album but I also don't see a huge difference in quality between this and some of his other good solo releases. I think the brevity and focus had more to do with the positive reaction than anything, Pusha isn't doing anything here that he hasn't done elsewhere.

And Infared is the most discussed song on the album. Those 7 songs are what I hoped for back in '09 when Push & Kanye first started working with each other. Doubt anything better will ever come from the two of them.

I lost track of his career from Fear of God till now to be honest, but certainly feels this carries more weight than any of the Griselda EP/mixtapes, outside of HWHII possibly.

RR2 for me.

As great as it is, Daytona is way too short for me to consider it a proper album.

the only shocking thing about this list is the omission of Earl and Eminem, RIP Ackbar and blastmaster. actually kinda sad drizzle devolved into oldmanistan rap theatrics too but what can you do, the joys of Lil Uzi aint for everyone i suppose

Eminem's album was good for one listen on some "ok he can kinda rap still" novelty. earl's album was somehow more boring than his last one. this thread=natural history museum.
1. Nas
2. Drake

that's pretty much it fam.

If you think Drake had the best album of all time just say so. No one respects your opinions on anything anyway so there's nothing to lose here.

RR2

Didn’t enjoy it initially, but it grew on me like an STD-related wart.

Paraffin

Best album of 2018: Lyrics, production, phenomenal aesthetics.

ROME was better, but ROME is one of the best albums of all time so...

Dark Horse just hit all the right notes. Dude could have legitimately never made another song after it, and I'd have been good.

I've yet to come to really appreciate Woods, but I noticed there wasn't much noise around here when Paraffin came out so passed on it. Might go back to it.

Worth revisiting; mercurial bangerz galore. "Rehearse with Ornette" alone is :jiz:

Woods is a bit of an acquired taste but well, well worth it. Best rapper for a while now.
Besides the Armand Hammer stuff and Roc's albums i liked everything Chris Crack did this year, the Buze Bruvaz stuff (esp Drinkin Beer wif Prostitutes), Marlowe, the Quelle/Jean record, Daytona, Fetti and idk what else
