What’s the consensus on NORE’sMelvyn Flynt Da Hustler album?

Post by Gyangsta 4 Life »

Bunch of bangers on this thing. Nore raps about actual stuff. The weakest beats are the Neptunes beats and they’re still pretty good. And Nore murders them anyway. So many instances of him being hilarious and thugged out at the same time. Why was he not in movies?

Forebearer of the coat-ah flow btw. “Smoke weed now ‘til it’s a lil roach-ah”

This album is better than like ..It Was Written...or definitely any DMX album.

So what do you guys think?

he didnt like this one right? "cant believe I fucked up and made a half assed album"

Some good songs on there and I'm sure there was a few mixtape cuts that didn't make the album (or maybe that was Gods Favourite?)

It is still a slog to get through

"Sometimes" is one of his best songs though...

Yeh he expressed that sentiment a few times on his later albums. It seems to really bother him.

NORE's catalog hasn't aged well for me.

The War Report is a classic and his first solo album is very good

Last NORE cut I banged was "Nothin'" & that was mostly due to the beat.

His only excuse is... his pops just died!

I like his first solo a lot better and Superthug is one of the few non-Clipse major singles from The Neptunes that I would still listen to today.

Also the second CNN album Reunion is very decent late 90's (technically released in 2000, sure) dunn rap. Capone sounded very motivated on that album and the roster of producers was excellent (LES, EZ Elpee, Alc, Timbo, Havoc, Premo, Scratch, Dame Grease, Lord Finesse).
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly
