I'm sorry but just as much as I love the majority of the nominatees, I don't think anything is touching the energy, chemistry and production of "Run." This is Ghost at his finest, Jadakiss doing what he does best and the RZA we all know and love.

And I know peeps like JBL think it's unfair to include it, but the fact is it released this year and nobody 'owned' the track until it's early '04 release. I don't think it's right to ignore a track just because it leaked to radio a few months prior to the New Year.

I was torn between Rock Ko.kaine Flow, Figaro, and Run...

Voted for Run for the reasons that Phila listed. RZA off of weed= :shock:

Figaro has the illest raps, Rock Co.kaine Flow has great chemistry but the beat and rhymes on Run make for the most complete song, so that's what I went with.

"Run" was on every mixtape from, like, september 2003 and on wax a couple of weeks later so it's definately a 2003 joint.

It was THE joint of 2003 along with "holla". But whatever.

So excluding that it's a tie between "thief's theme" and "appreciate".

figaro and run were right there

thiefs theme was a great song but to me these three were in a class by themselves

Ditto. I'm not a Jadakiss fan but he KILLED it. Ghost as usual KILLED it. but what really sealed the deal was Rza's beat. For one moment the man returned to his peak level with this one.

On another note, the "Why" remix was fire but it got dated real fast. that's the kind of thing VH1 will pull out in 10 years from now to illustrate how crazy this year was.

on ANOTHER note, how sad is it that Jada appears twice and he still can't make an album to save his life?

Same feelings except I voted for De La + MF. Dope shit though. Its so hard to pick a best song this year without it being a Madvillainy song, atleast for me, but its hard to single out one song cause it is the epitome of an album. The songs are so much better when they are all together.

not that it's my FAVORITE song of the year, i like it alot though. mostly for that adrenaline/bump of pure medicine line...gets me hype every time.

didn't see 'run' down there at the bottom though...shoulda picked that.
