With assholes like you on this side of the dirt, nerd rap will never die.

Shouldn't you be finishing your semi-autobiographical "novella" on your father who liked to dress up as a tranny to rob unsuspecting Hungarian tourists...? Or, wait, even better; tell us all another story about how Goretex grinds up human bones and smokes them before he writes his raps!!!

How can nerd rap be dying? It was never that popular to begin with....
Is this hiphop? Hell no, this is war.
I've been trying to tell you that since How About Some Hardcore.

i guess 'nerd' rap started with that anticon shit, but to me it was never popular to the world, just the net.

to each is own, but i know when aesop dropped that brick last year, most of those juxies had their hearts broken.

c'mon phila, you know the preferred nomenclature is "jukies" (i'm praying that was a typo)

the argument of if it was ever thriving or not is really neither here nor there -- like phila said that was mostly just the 'net anyway. i think it is still going, perhaps less strong at the moment, but such is the way of all things cyclical. bring back the tempo got it right, it's shit like nonphixion that is getting nerdier, and they will always continue to be jocked by the would-be elite, however crappy they become. long live nerd rap. aesop back on top in 05, watch.

I don't like nerd rap, personally, whatever it is defined as...

But anyways, I think it'll die for now, but it will come back.

Everything in hip-hop goes in cycles, it'll come back.

Look even Mase came back.

I don't think it is. Somewhere there is a hip hop fan that can't relate to anything street, urban, or ethnic. He's buying the newest Buck 65 record right now, and thinking "this is so much realer than selling drugs or clubbing."

Agreed. It's just like the clowns that say "ignorant rap" when referring to Dipset. I'm like, "nah, it's not ignorant rap, it's just the kind of rap that isn't good."

If you judge by this site, it's pretty much dead. But as far as media exposure and sales to the college/indie rock crowd, it's getting bigger.

The people I know who are big Anticon fans say things like, "I thought rap was moronic until I heard this Clouddead CD." And all of them have
discovered this music in the past year due to write ups in hipster magazines and theh like.

If you're talking about Def Jux, that label is on the decline with both camps. Too much, as Boots would say, "riding the fence."

I've been locked up. Matter of fact, your voice sounded familiar on that track you posted. Weren't you the one that swallowed my white stuff in the kitchen that one night? I told you it was hollandaise sauce, right? Oh, how we laughed afterwards as you whispered sweet nothings into my right ear just before I stiff-armed you onto the linoleum.

(yes, you're a homo)

If a bitch gives you head, does that make you a homo?

Well, then. Nothing wrong with my story, is there.

The definition of nerd rap is -- and this is according to Webster's of course -- "Any artist that a fan of Dipset does NOT like is nerd rap."
