i voted for reason. i used to use fruity loops. i like reason better.
as far as hardware goes, everything you use is basically a computer of some sort, i figure i might as well have the power of a real computer and i dont think i could make beats on an lcd screen. i like the direction yamaha went with their production hardware/software mix, but thats a little too expensive

By the way, I know the poll is basic as fuck, but you get the idea.

Feel free to throw other pieces/programs into the mix.

i went for reason. for years i was sick of tripping over cables, and those fucking wall wart plugs suck too.

to be honest, they could strip all the instruments except the rex player out and i'd still be happy.

I use cool edit because I am comfortable with it and too lazy to learn something else. I tried an MPC and hated it, not worth the money at all.
