i went with supreme clientele, this is basically an album that hasn't left my car since i bought it as a senior in high school, i recently bought a new copy (not cuz it was stolen but but because my old one was too scratched to listen to).

albums on that poll that i like almost as much :

the infamous
liquid swords (didn't vote for this or the infamous because they seem like debuts to me since i have never heard their real debuts)
death certificate
low end theory
ATliens

I'd say that too if my real debut album sucked.

ATLiens was the first album I saw and I clicked it without even the slightest care for the rest of the options.

damn, thats tough. but the infamous is as close to perfect a hiphop album can get, for me.

im surprised liquid swords is geting so much love, i mean i know a lot of people love that album..and it thought it was generally regarded as the best wu release, but it seems over the last few years OB4CL got a lot more jockage.

I dont think "Liquid Swords" counts as a sophomore.

But since its there I voted for it.

Otherwise, LET.

I know what you're sayin, but technically it is.
In the liner notes of Beneath The Surface, there is a plug for the upcoming "4th Album from the GZA."

I don't. He put out his first album on Cold Chillin' then a couple years later put another one out on Geffen. Why is there any question?

That's a damn impressive list, I had to choose Stress because parts of that album still resonate with me (close second being Liquid Swords).

that said, i didnt vote for low end theory just because although its a great album it never did it for me in the way that midnight marauders did, that said, it shouldnt have influenced my decision, but for some reason it did haha
felt the same way..

went with death certificate.

Toss up between Death Certificate and Extinction Agenda for me.

Voted for Cube. Still a damn shame what happened to his rapping skills, but I'm happy that dude is getting paid.

the Infamous was the correct answer.

although liquid swords is obviously a classic, i picked atliens just based on how the question was phrased.

as a sophomore album, growing from the first release, atliens was crazy.

Damn this is a hard decision but just like you other fuqs, I'm saying Outkast but tribe hit me hard on their second roll, and even 3rd had a good sound at the time of its release. Can't forget da Mobb cause I was listenin to that the otha day but "Dre n dem" album sounds as good as it did the first time..........Outkast neah.
Yes Yes Ya'll and it.......

I agree with ATLiens. I don't think it had the biggest impact on hip hop music of the above choices, but it's my favorite. I had a hard time choosing between that and Genocide and Juice, though.

Death Certificate easily, but 2nd place is a damn dog fight. DYMW, Outkast, Mobb Deeb, and my dark horse, 3rd Base.

Very Few People exceeded the Sophmore Jinx. My top two favorites are Oukast and Eminem. The formula seems to be 1st album is killer rhymes killer beats, and second album is a touch more intaspect.
