cut you good / oregon

Post by marinville »

two tracks I've made. everything I have made so far is still in rough form, and my drums are still mostly mechanical. but I'm making headway, and I still dont think it sucks, or else I wouldnt post it. feedback appreciated.

the first is a beat I made mostly with cuts:

the second is... not:

first one. the scratches aren't bad. I don't like what you're using for the bassline here. it's too hollow sounding for an already hollow track. there really is no melodic element to carry the track, outside of the scratches. this is too busy.

second one. starts off nice enough. when those synths come in, they fuck up the track really badly. they don't sound good. They're off key with the bassline. and the melody isn't very good. the sound is abrasive, too high to be enjoyable. yeah get rid of those synths.

keep at it homey.
