Downloading Plug-Ins for Pro Tools?

Post by phil connors »

I' ve been trying to get various rtas plug-ins that are offered for free on the internet to work in Pro Tools on my Mac but I cant seem to get them to even show up in a new session.

here are some of the plug ins im trying to get

http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan04/a ... snotes.htm

I've downloaded the plug-ins on my PC for the Mac and unzipped them
but they always show up as a document when I bring them up on my Mac. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

You stupid bastard... Pro Tools involves spending money. OF COURSE no one (most) on this site can help you!

First of all, you shouldn't be downloading anything for free off the internet to use in conjunction with your Pro Tools setup.

Besides, all that stuff is worthless crap.

Do your research and invest the appropriate amount of money.

Are you sure your putting them in the right folder?, i.e. when I download a vst I have to put it in my FruityLoops VST folder then load Fruity and refresh my effects folder.

The dude above is talking shit theres loads of free vst's that are good, check out http://www.kvraudio.com for information on such things, its got a good forum as well so ask over there.
